This Bible is absolutely beautiful, from its aesthetics to the way it breaks down scripture, gives the original meaning of words and names that I otherwise would have thought insignificant. Very helpful for someone who is new in their walk with Christ and needs a little help deciphering the Bible. I bought this for my mom, my best friend, and myself. I consider myself a Bible nerd. I own 8 different bibles, 3 of them are study bible but this one is the best! She answers so many hard questions that I would normally have to consult many commentaries for. It is easy to understand and also very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. I’m buying many for the women in my life!

This is the first Bible I’ve ever bought. I’ve never been taught how to read or dissect a Bible.Pros:• This translation is extremely easily to read and comprehend.• The Introduction to the Christian Standard Bible section is very helpful. It tells you the style in which they translated the Bible “Optimal Equivalent.” Tells you how to read the footnotes.•Section on How to Study the Bible•The best part of this Bible is in the back. If you are trying to know what the Bible says about a specific thing, example anger. You go to the Concordance, find anger or angry and it shows you each passage this word appears in. Extremely helpful!•There are footnotes. How to differently understand a verse or give one insight into how the people lived back in those times which help understand some references in the verses. Some footnotes also have special notes on how a woman can apply the Bible into her life, when applicable. The footnotes don’t seem to try to accommodate one’s feelings but breakdown the Lords’ Word.•In the beginning of the Bible it tells you a break down of how to study the Bible.Cons:• It is very simplistic. Which can give generic ideas or applications. Not too much depth in certain parts.• The Bible cover is peeling, see photo.In case you were wondering your pens will bleed through the pages. I would just suggest to not push the pen down too hard and it won’t bleed too bad. I plan on buying a different translation to study after reading through this one so I’m not too worried about the pen bleeding. I tried using colored pencils it barely shows the color due to the glossy pages. I am going to buy Bible highlighters and will let you know how that goes.Overall, I think this is a perfect 1st Bible. Once one becomes more comfortable reading and studying the Word a different version can be read.
