Not what I expected
This seasoning packet for seafood boil surprised me—I initially thought it was a traditional boil mix, but it's actually meant for adding flavor after cooking. I tried it with shrimp, and while it wasn't what I expected, it turned out pretty great. The touch of spice wasn't overwhelming, and the buttery, savory taste was spot on. Plus, it's super easy to prepare, requiring just a few extra ingredients like garlic and unsalted butter. While it may not be a full sauce as advertised, the flavor definitely makes up for it. Overall, a nice addition to seafood dishes, but be prepared to add your own personal twist for optimal flavor.

Great flavor
I enjoy eating Cajun boils and thought this was a seasoning you add to the pot as you boil the seafood. Upon receiving this sauce packet and reading the directions, this sauce packet is prepared with butter and garlic to use as a dipping sauce after cooking the boil. I added cooked shrimp to the sauce after the sauce was prepared. The shrimp tasted great and wasn’t too spicy. This sauce packet was easy to use and didn’t require many ingredients for a quick and easy meal.

This sauce is for after boiling the seafood
So, this is the sauce that you pour on COOKED seafood not while you boil it. It still tasted great with the hints of spice from the red pepper. It has more of a lemony savory taste to it from the garlic and onion powder. It's not that spicy though. You combine this with some garlic and unsalted butter to make the sauce. It is easy to make and is very convenient if you are making a big portion. It's very well done and tastes great. It amplifies the taste of the seafood much more.

Nice quick savory seafood
I'm on the Gulf Coast where everyone has their (usually multigenerational) seafood boiling method, mine is a bag of crab boil with my own salt level and a few additional spices with cut up onion, garlic, celery, lemons, sometimes hot peppers which is great for the seafood as well as boiling potatoes, corn and such. This seafood boil sauce doesn't really replace boiling seafood and I would not want potatoes or corn done in it but it does capture much of the essence of spices of traditional seafood boil in an interesting coating sauce for the seafood.Because I was using a pound of medium butterflied shrimp that would cook quickly I added them to the prepared sauce as soon as the butter sizzled so they could absorb some of the flavor. This turned out quite nice and will likely be how I use the remainder, I enjoyed it very much that way but I wouldn't like it on outside of cooked seafood that had to be peeled. There's only a touch of heat, I'll be adding a bit of red pepper next time.

Southern style seafood boil - with a touch of the Louisiana Bayou
I've had seafood boils before, but only when I was visiting relatives "back east" in coastal New England. This product is fashioned on same type of concept as the famous seafood boils of the Northeast, with a Cajun twist. There are Cajun/Creole spices in this packet but it's not overwhelmingly spicy. The sodium content is low and I am VERY thankful for that because I have a family member who is on a strict low sodium diet. I live in South Texas and am able to use this with our local fresh Gulf shrimp. It's easy to prepare and you only have to add in garlic (dehydrated works okay!) and unsalted butter over freshly boiled (or steamed, as I prefer) seafood. It's buttery, flavorful, super tasty and a bit indulgent. I'll be re-ordering once this is gone (I made it once and I can squeeze out another serving since I cook only for two). Really good for sure.

Too spicy
If you cannot handle spice don’t bother with this product. We got this for a seafood feast and some of us are not able to handle to spicy. I added onion and some other ingredients to subside the hotness which came out delicious. But I probably won’t get this again
