Glad I ordered this no more burning my fingers

I like that these are made of flexible wood and are perfect for grabbing toast or bagels from toaster…plus they are cute!

I got these legendary toaster tongs I've been hoping to get for so long. They are as simple and straight-forward as they seem: they are wooden tongs made in the shape of a squirrel marketed for multiple uses especially with getting toast out your toaster because wood doesn't conduct electricity like metal would, so you can safely nap your toast without worrying about perishing. I love squirrels, so I am all for the shape/design. My only complaint, the sole thing taking a star away from my review, is that they are actually really hard (relatively) to use in that squeezing the tongs together as you would in order to grab something is hard. You're met with a lot of resistance. While I am young and don't have any limitations in my hands that would otherwise cause extra difficulty, I am having to exert effort to use these things. So definitely wouldn't recommend for someone with hand issues/injury/disability as it isn't the most easy to use. I do understand that it is wood, and all trees are unique, so with that being said, your pair could be different from mine. Maybe the wood that mine are made from is just tough/sturdy so it takes extra power to use, haha. I'm not sure. But as someone who knows better than to put metal in a toaster yet is salty about the toast that gets stuck, these are handy indeed.Alternative rating I'd give if I possible (e.g. 4.5 stars): 4.2Am I happy/satisfied with this item? Sturdy, cute and functional with stylish look and fun conversation piece

It lives on top of my new toaster oven. So cute. Works well with moving the trays in and out and the double tail is great for grabbing the hot toast.

If you like squirrels or animals his is a nice little addition for the kitchen. I keep it stored on a hook on the lazy susan so it's easy to grab and I get to display the squirrel. It works well for picking the toast out of the toaster. I no longer burn my finger tips or have to grab a fork to fish out the english muffins.

My first shipment was broken into pieces and had to be replaced. The second arrived in perfect condition, but sadly it was just about as useful as the broken one. It's a good little item for display, but it has virtually no real functionality. The wood is untreated, so it soaks up water too easily and makes it hard to clean if it ever gets dirty. The 'tongs' function is hard to use. If you put too much pressure on it, it feels like it's about to break the tail tongs off (the first pair had snapped clear off before we even got it, along with the nubby little legs). It's hard to bend and anxety inducing to be careful to guage just how much pressure you can apply and where without it snapping.Also, because it's untreated wood, it's not a good idea to get it near anything either too hot or too cold, as that can cause damage. It's not durable, difficult to use, difficult to clean, and not an effective tool.2/5 (only giving it a 2 rather than a 1 because it looks cute). Highly dissatisfied.

They enable me to retrieve hot toast from a toaster without singeing my fingers or risking a shock. They also work well to serve small fruits and vegetables, or pieces of prepared foods. I've used them on a buffet table. The tongs are 9" long by 1.38" tall and .8" thick, and are easy to grasp. The cute end is a small squirrel whose fluffy, wavy tail extends out to the 9" length of the tongs. I have been hand washing and drying the tongs as putting them in a dishwasher is just about guaranteed destruction of the wood.
