Works pretty good for small stuff.
Use this on a small Ryobi lathe. I’ve made some screwdriver, ice cream scoop and bottle opener handles. This has worked surprisingly well. I use a spur to start the turning down to a diameter that will fit in chuck, about 3/4”. Then put chuck on and finish the piece. This is a light duty chuck for small work. Handles, pens and such. No big bowl turning with this.

Good Deal
The clamp operation is a little rough but for the most part it works well. Always remember when it comes to tools you get what you pay for and this is a good deal for the novice or beginner working on small parts.

Essential to hold small parts
This Chuck is well made. The jaws open and close smoothly. It was easy to install. It is indispensable for lathe work on small pieces of wood.

Very average at best
Not what I would call precision. This came I a box with instructions(?) that were shredded. This had clearly been disassembled by someone previously. Jaws were not properly installed in fact one just fell out. The retaining ring was not installed completely and just pulled off. I disassembled the chuck completely and degreased the unit properly installed the jaws and after some select words got it to work. I will need to disassemble it again and refine the fit, nothing unusual for this type of product from China. Would I buy it again? Maybe but for what I received, quality wise, it is a bit overpriced. IMHO

Works about half the time
Works well about half the time. Some times it grips well sometimes it doesn’t. Last time I used it, the last time I will ever use it, one of the grips flew out as I was turning and put a big dent in my wall. Of course the ring I was turning went flying and shattered.

Solid 4.5 star
This is more of a 4.5 star, there really isn't much to say, it's got good weight, and it's pretty simple and straightforward, it's a little more than I was expecting for the price.Definitely a good deal.

Chrome only makes it look pretty
Very stiff mechanically. Lubrication helped somewhat. After one of the Tommy wrenches bent and snapped.
