This is such a nice gift to give someoneThe outside looks like a normal (wide) hardback book which sits nicely on a book shelfThe board and pieces are stored inside the fake book and can be taken out when neededThe board is folded which does mean there are creases down the middle in both directions (in a cross)This doesn't impact the playThe pieces are well made and quite light to use.

nice chess set albeit on the dear side
chess in a book============Nice compact board and pieces tucked away inside a book cover. Sets easily on a bookshelf, and easy to carry around. Minor niggles include how light the pieces are - would have been nice if they were weighted or magnetic base. Board not very rugged. Also over time I found the book doesn't close flat any more - perhaps from opening and closing it so often. A little on the dear side, currently selling for 34.99
