Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover is so good that people talk about it! It is easy to use, just spray and blot. No scrubbing or vacuuming required. Spot Shot removes old and new stains and both oil-based and water-based stains. Our proprietary formula liquefies tough stain particles, allowing them to be lifted out of carpeting without rubbing, scrubbing or vacuuming. Directions: 1. Thoroughly blot or vacuum the affected area. 2. Shake can for 2-3 seconds, tilt at 60 degree angle and spray stain. 3. Blot treated stain with an absorbent cloth (preferably white). 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone. 5. I've been using this carpet cleaner for nearly 30 years. It is fabulous and lifting stains out. Bubbles up and stain lifts immediately. Works on foot traffic, food spills, pets and even took black sharpie ink out of my mother in law's Burber carpet. I also use it on my fabric car seats. Love it.

Works Very Well
We have several inside pets so I buy this carpet cleaner by the case. It's always done a good job at removing whatever the pet could not keep inside their body (both ends). It almost always gets the stain out, not completely every single time, but it does a lot better than any other carpet cleaners I've tried, which have been a lot. It also has a nice scent.

My order arrived in a Home Depot boc. It was poorly packaged. The lid was missing from one of the three cans allowing some of the can's contents to be sprayed. I have been using this since 1995 when the general contractor used it on mu brand new carpet to remove paint specks. I am about to finish my second can. The three cans I got today will take awhile to use. It is similar to dry cleaning chemicals. Be careful, I just shot some in a stream about six feet across the floor.

This is worth every single penny
I got hooked on this product about 20 years ago. It got red wine out of white carpet. Sold. It cleans up pet vomit, food spills and dirt. It has yet to ruin any carpet/rug/chair I've used it on. This is a must have if you live in a house. It does have a smell, but it's not awful but it is a bit chemically. To really clean an area, you need to scrub it into the carpet fibers in multiple different directions; really work it in & reapply more product if you need to (I have a nice stiff bristled, long handled brush for this). It does take time to dry but it is efficient. The local stores stopped carrying this & I can only think the reason why is that it works and all other stain removers are a waste of money, which means they sit on the shelves.
