Miss Suzy

Miss Suzy works hard to keep her house neat and tidy until a gang of rowdy red squirrels chase her out of her own home. She finds shelter in an attic and makes the doll house there into a lovely home. She then sets a small troop of toy soldiers free from their box and takes care of them and herself in the new doll house. When he soldiers hear of what happened to Miss Suzy their love for her prompts them to avenger her and get her house back.Highly recommend!

This was one of my favorite books as a child so I was pleased to rediscover this treasure. Good lesson to young minds about care, compassion and the rewards of sharing.

I grew up with this book and don’t have kids of my own so I gave them to the neighbors for Christmas. I’ve been informed that this is read at least once a day and the kids love Miss Suzy!

My mom had a very tattered and torn version of this book when she was little do I got it for her as a gift. It made her so happy to have a new prestine copy, she thought it was no longer being printed! So glad I found it!

I bought this book, not as a gift, but for myself. I suppose it was a gift after all. The gift of nostalgia. I remember so fondly reading this book as a child, and was thrilled to find it on Amazon. The story and illustrations are timeless, and the book is perfect for all children, and nostalgic adults.

I had this book when I was a kid, and we had our mother read it over and over again to us. I was so happy to see this 50th anniversary edition. It was just like I remember the book.

I read this book to my daughter 51 yrs ago and she loved it. Now I have a great granddaughter so I ordered Miss Suzy for her and she loves it too. It’s such a sweet story. So glad I could still get it after all these yrs.

I still have my copy from 1972 and read it to my kids when they were little. They can now have a copy of their own and I'm thrilled.

I loved this book when I was little... and I was positively over the moon when I saw it had been re-edited in a 50th anniversary edition. Delightful and magical, and about not only caring for yourself and your habitat but also caring for others, selflessly.

I loved this book as a child and was thrilled to pass it on to my little girl. It really captures the imagination of what it's like for little ones to live in small spaces. Anyone who loves treehouses and forts will find it delightful. Descriptive pictures -- wonderful for all ages -- although outdated in terms of gender roles.

長く品切れ状態が続いてて再刊したと思ったら、何とこれは４０ｔｈAnniversary　Editionでした！（表紙のタイトルの下にちゃんと表記されています）日本語版（「りすのスージー」）は読み物サイズですが、こちらはもう少し大きくて絵本といえるサイズです。文章の印刷が縦書きと横書きの違いからか、絵の割り振り方も違うし、３分の１くらいの絵はカラー（残りは日本語版と同じ二色刷り）なので日本語版を既に購入された方もつい欲しくなる本だと思います。ローベルと言えば「がまくんかえるくん」シリーズですが、個人的にはこの頃の絵にはより温かみがあって大好きです。兵隊のお人形の表情の豊かなこと！カラーの頁では一層活き活きと見えます。
