It's not necessary soldering to change the joystick, there are several youtube videos that shows the process.

It works with any game that doesn't require either analog stick. If a game supports the d-pad, it will work just fine with this joystick.

Does it work on switch or with the 8bitdo adapter?

No. This is the 8bitdo arcade stick for the Xbox. They make another stick which is exactly the same for the switch and it’s cheaper.
