All Quiet on the Western Front

One of the greatest books ever
This is a book that has been moving people for almost 100 years. There is a reason Adolf Hitler banned it in Germany. Wars are not fought by the instigators but by the innocent young, either by poverty or patriotic propaganda. Should be required reading in high schools if it isn't already.

A legendary novel in good condition.
I bought a used and cheap copy and it still looks great! I read the same translation in High School and really wanted a similar copy on my shelf, this served that purpose exceptionally. Both the dust cover art and the hard cover look beautiful.

Must read! The book is more about what war does to young men...
Im glad I read this book and wish I read it sooner! The writing is excellent. I thought it was going to be more about a hero and war, but it wasn't which was a nice change. It talks a lot about how young boys were thrown into an unknown and their lives completely changed.

The only well written Anti-War book
Most Anti-war literature is rather poorly written. This book is the exception. Remarque claims that it was not anti-war, but few anti-war authors don't. That being said it is a book worth reading, and a good addition to any collection. The translation is good, with the only exceptions being referring to all pistols as "Revolvers," among other over simplifications.

A real classic gem
This edition is fabulous. It includes the history of the author which they didn't say anything about when we studied this in school. Reading it as an adult I found it described the roots of PTSD without even knowing it in the most clear manner. Really liked the notes on sides of pages to define words or describe further with information. A real classic gem.

An Obscure War Focused.
This book is an excellent, semi-nonfiction account of the author's days spent in the trenches. It is poignant, gruesome, and awe striking tale of spending every waking moment avoiding death. The author puts his reader in the trenches along side the German men. He places them in the hospitals, the food scavenges, the visits home. Every day, this war fades into the abyss of an uncaring world. Everyone should enjoy this book as excellent literary fiction, and as a recalling of history.
