Makes beautiful cookies
I bought this for a unique Christmas cookie idea and I love the results. Now, I must state that I have only used this was one cookie recipe and cannot speak as whether the results will be the same for you. I figured in order to ensure the mold truly remained in tact, I decided to make gingerbread cookies using this mold. As you can see, the outcome is beautiful. For those still reading, I’d like to make two suggestions as it can be difficult to get it out without breakage in one form or another. 1) Use a touch of baking spray, (I used the floured one) but be careful not to overspray. *as fine as the details of the mold are, I felt it may cause too much flour to transfer over, but you may have better luck. 2) Just slightly overfill the mold. Spread it toward the edges, and then it’ll be easier to begin the initial peel back. I did this upside down slowly allowing the pine one to rest on my fingertips as my thumb gently peeled it back from the inside. It may seem like a process, but it’s worth it. Hope this review helps!

Great mold!
This is the exact shape I was looking for, so I had to get this one first to try it out. Next, I will pick out one of the three-packs of similar shapes, like the slightly more twisty circle ones, maybe! I used a shortbread type dough with a mix of baking flour and semolina, and butter, with a bit of vanilla. To unmold easily, I sprinkled a bit of flour each time before pressing the dough in. I have also seen people use a brush to oil the mold each time. I had no trouble with it sticking this way though! You can make them donut-shaped by not filling in the center, which I tried for a couple, or you can fill in the center and add date paste or fruit preserves (I used apricot and raspberry). These were all very good and they look so nice. I really want to try different shapes now though. Also, they are good-sized cookies!

Perfect for Thumbprint Cookies!
This mold works great for making thumbprint cookies. I used my usual peanut butter cookie recipe and added jam after the cookies were baked. The result tasted just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! For the best results, you'll need to dust the mold with a little flour before each time to help the cookies release easily. While it does add an extra step, it's quick and definitely worth it.

Wood Benefits from More Finish
The wood arrived very dry and only lightly finished. I'd recommend wiping on some food-grade wood finish to nourish the wood and protect it from food and moisture. I used a food-grade mineral oil finish for cutting boards: three light coats of the oil and three light coats of the oil/wax conditioner. Let each coat dry a day or two to allow the finsih to soak-in. Rubbing-out the finish in the carving is tedious, but take your time. Avoid metal tools as that can gouge the soft wood. A tooth brush is useful to smoothing-out the wax in crevices and removing lint from rags. The blocks are nicely carved and came-up very nicely with the treatment. I can recommend the Howard Products offerings (no interest in the company, just a satisfied user) but I would expect the same results from other well-made cutting board oil products.

Elegant mold for my Shortbread cookies
I bought this item exclusively for my cardamom Shortbread cookies and I absolutely love this mold. Easy to use, make sure you coat in flour so cookie dough doesn't stick, and it's easy to clean.

Lovely carving. Would season it first with food-grade oil for wood first
Absolutely fell in love with this cute little squirrel. I’m going to drill a hole near the edge, thread a thin green ribbon through it and hang it on the kitchen wall with some other antique wooden cookie molds. Can’t report how well it works for making actual cookies but if I did I would oil the raw wood with no-toxic food grade oil to season it properly.

Once you put fondant in the block it will not come out and you can’t send it back
This is a block of wood and can’t be used for baking. Also you can’t retire bc the address isn’t in English. I’m out $15 and I’m pissed 😡
