Ahead JJ1 SPEED METAL Aluminum Sticks

I love these sticks. This is my second pair of Ahead sticks. I was hesitant at first with the high price tag, but as someone who breaks wooden sticks way more often than I’d like, I can say without a doubt that these are worth it. My first pair held up for a few months of regular use, a period of time in which I would have probably gone through about 5 pairs of regular wooden sticks. After a few months the tip on one stick split in half. I found replacement tips online, and replaced both. This got me a few more weeks and then one of the sticks randomly snapped in the middle while I was playing.The price is great for how long they last, but I also really like the weight and feel of these. The overall weight is pretty similar to wooden sticks, but my wrists feel less fatigued from playing and the action feels quicker because the weight is mostly in the rear of the stick, and a lot less in the tip. It’s easy to play fast with these sticks and the bounce is great.

These have been amazing. I used to have a pair of these, but sold them with my kit many years ago. Got a new band together and came straight for these. Awesome, lightweight, and durable.

I bought these as a gift for my drummer. He used wooden sticks, but wanted to try these out. They are very light and well balanced. He prefers wood but not because these are inferior. Just preference. They are very well made and are good quality.

I wanted slim sticks that were heavier than wood. These fit the bill. They act just like wood sticks - you can't tell they are aluminum. The texture is different - better to me. They are one ounce heavier than my Pro-mark 7As, which are too feather weight for my taste. They are slightly thicker, but don't feel like they are. I always hated how fat drum sticks felt - this fixes that. I like these a whole lot. Recommended.

It has been the first time I've played with aluminum sticks. I've heard bad things about them, but let me tell you they are worth every penny. Their lightweight design makes it easy to play fast-tempo songs, the shock to your wrists is eliminated, and cymbals sound amazing when you hit them with this sticks.

They are definitely not 17 inch if length is what you’re looking for
