Great Value and Beautiful Patterns
I have what I know is a lifelong love affair with Swedish Weaving, due in no small part to Katherine Kennedy. Her instructions and patterns were the first I used and I have since personally found them to be some of the best and most clearly written. I was thrilled to see she had a new book coming out and easily placed my pre-order confident I was making a good purchase. When the book arrived I was wowed by the variety of patterns, and yes the clarity of instruction I have come to expect with her work. If you go out and search for patterns you too will find this book is an amazing value of unique patterns. When I leave reviews I try to put the item to the test to give my full and truthful experience. Now I have used her patterns in the past and saw all the points I knew I liked present but just the same I grabbed a huck towel and stitched up a project, (not to mention I was just excited to give one a try!) Yes! I would heartily recommend this collections of patterns to anyone who is involved with or intrested in trying Swedish weaving! It has a section that clearly describes, with photos, the materials commonly used and which are most suitable for what sort of project. The book then moves into patterns grouped from the easiest to read to the more involved designs. There are clear patterns to work from and color photographs of the stitch patterns which are not just lovely to look at but inspiring to try. While I am sure my skills have much room to grow I know I will enjoy the process and with this book at my side it will surely keep me busy for a long time to come.

Long-awaited Swedish Weaving Book
The wait was very worth it! Katherine Kennedy has out-done herself. The Swedish Weaving world has been in need of new patterns and this book fits the bill. Book contains many patterns for ALL weaving levels. Introductory material is perfect for the novice. Graphs, though small, are explicit enough with the accompanying written information. Color photos capture the beauty of the designs. A definite "must have"!

Not What I Expected
There are many beautiful pattern ideas in the book. Mostly for smaller projects. You could expand some to make blankets, which is what I do, but it would take a lot of figuring along with some trial and error. Also, the book is smaller than all the other books. The patterns are small, the row numbers are small, and I have a hard time on some of the patterns distinguishing how the threads go, because some of the threads overlap. I guess I could buy a magnifying glass or try scanning the pattern and blowing it up. Again, there are many beautiful patterns, but if I have to work that hard to read a pattern or to manipulate it for my purpose, it's not really worth it.

Unbelievably Great
I just received my book. It is fantastic. I have been trolling the internet for patterns. They were all too similar. This book has ORIGINAL designs. it is also a beautiful and well organized for beginner or advanced stitcher. I'd like to see another 50 designs!

Just ok
Most projects are for small items, pillow, table runners, etc., although the instructions say patterns can be extended for larger items-you would need to do quite a bit of math/drawings to make afghans. Not what I expected☹️
