Surprising Intrigue with a dash of romance
Forging Silver Into Stars is a layered story which takes you down a sure path yet like a roller coaster twists you in a different direction. There was plenty of context within the story that I knew who the characters were without keeping a list or turning back pages. Kemmerer’s character Callyn was my favorite - I wonder who yours will be?

I LOVED returning to the Cursebreaker universe with “Forging Silver into Stars.”
I LOVED returning to the Cursebreaker universe with “Forging Silver into Stars.” It was a dream come true to be able to reunite with some of my favorite characters and meet new ones along the way.The novel takes place four years after the events of “A Vow So Bold and Deadly” and is told from Tycho, Jax, and Callyn’s points-of-view.Having fallen in love with Tycho the moment he was introduced in “A Heart So Fierce and Broken,” I enjoyed reading from his perspective for the first time and seeing the young man he has grown into. As the King’s Courier, Tycho allows the reader to travel with him between Syhl Shallow and Emberfall. Through Tycho, we are able to explore new towns within the borders of the two kingdoms and get to know the people that inhabit them. Kemmerer also takes great care in revealing Tycho’s tragic past, which was merely touched upon in the “Cursebreakers” trilogy. A lot of his past hardships shed light on his motivations and deep-seated insecurities.Like Tycho, Jax’s life has been full of misfortune. His mother died in childbirth and he lost one of his legs in an accident at the age of thirteen. As a result, Jax’s father physically and verbally abuses him. He also leaves Jax to keep their forge in business while he wastes away at one of the local taverns. His best friend Callyn helps him survive most days and with Tycho’s encouragement, he finds the confidence to become a skilled archer despite his father’s belief that he is worthless without both of his legs. I really appreciate the inclusion of Jax’s viewpoint because it allows for readers with dis/abilities to see themselves represented in literature.Callyn has spent her entire life living just down the street from Jax in Briarlock. Her mother was killed in the war with Emberfall. Not able to overcome his grief, Callyn’s father dies shortly after in a siege against the Crystal Palace. At eighteen, Callyn is left to raise her younger sister Nora and run her family’s bakery. I absolutely love how fiercely protective Callyn is of Nora. Their sisterly bond is reminiscent of Lia Mara’s relationship with Nolla Verin in “A Heart So Fierce and Broken” and “A Vow So Bold and Deadly.” The two have gone through so much together and Kemmerer depicts Callyn’s grief in a way that is both beautiful and devastating.Watching all three characters interact and grow close to one another was so much fun! Two different couples form as the novel progresses and all parties in each relationship start out as enemies before becoming lovers. This trope is my absolute favorite and I particularly loved how things developed between two LGBTQ+ characters. I am curious about which relationships will survive to the end of the series, because this book’s cliffhanger was wild! I cannot wait for book 2!

Chef's Kiss in Every Way
I bought this instantly because Kemmerer is one of my few insta-buy authors, but I put off reading it because I wasn't sure how I would feel about a m/m romance. I love her writing though, and I loved Tycho in the Cursebreaker series. I am so glad I have this book a chance. It is so beautifully written, highly readable, and the characters are amazingly. Everything about this book is perfect. It isn't just a romance. It is a fantasy with plenty of conniving villains, maybe-villains, political intrigue, and beautifully rounded characters. Highly recommend.

Read in One Sitting
Wow. This book exceeded my expectations. I would had read it in one sitting if I had a day to spare. Engaging character development, tension, political intrigue and romance. Worth the read.

Almost perfect.
I love the story continuing from the Cursebreakers series. However, since I work with 5th and 6th graders, I’m sad that I won’t be able to put this in my library. Too much sexual description for my students. The story itself is great, just too graphic for this age.

It came in good condition and my relative loved the book. She said it was well written and wants to read a sequel.

Slow Start to New Chapter of YA Fantasy Series
If you've read and enjoyed the Cursebreaker series from Bridgid Kemmerer you'll probably be excited to pick up back again with your favorite characters four years later like I was. I would not suggest attempting to read this series without reading all of Cursebreaker first. There's simply too much history/plot to catch up on.Also, this book is long. Very long. It's also very slow for the first 70% or so you really have to love the backstory to plow through. It's written from three POVs; Tycho (whom we know as Gray's young friend/future soldier from Cursebreaker), and two newcomers, Jax (a crippled teenage blacksmith) and Callyn (Jax's teenage baker friend).Spoiler Alert - turns out Tycho is bi-sexual and explores a physical relationship with a boy in this book. So, if you're like me and spent the first half of the book shipping him with Callyn - prepare to be disappointed. Not a lot happens here besides Tycho going back and forth between the two kingdoms and a small town. The book centers around different people falling in like/love and a lot of behind-the-scenes plotting to overthrow the King & Queen of Syhl Hollow (Gray & Lia Mara). I would've liked one of the narrators to be on the Truthbringer side so we could at least get a window into their plotting/backstabbing.It just felt so boring compared to the previous series. I felt like the Jax daddy drama went on FAR too long and I spent the whole book wondering "Why don't they just regrow his leg with magic already?" I still have hope!I'm still undecided about whether I will continue with this series. I sort of wish I'd just left them all at the HEA of the last series and moved on.

Perfection!
I loved Kemmerer's Cursebreaker series so much I couldn't wait to read Forging Silver into Stars. But I loved her characters so much in her Cursebreaker series that I didn't want to like Jax and Callyn at first. However, I was won over completely. I always loved Thycho, and it was wonderful to see him again as a young man forever loyal to Grey, but with monsters of his own to face. And I loved the ending. Could there be a book 2? Please!

Excellent 😁
Even preferring to read books with a M/F story or a M/F main couple, this book follows perfectly the Cursebreaker series, but with a M/M main couple and they are just perfect and i'm rooting for them 100% Curious to see the development of Jax's character in the following books 🧐 BK's writing style is just so fluid, so good, that i kept reading the book and i couldn't stop, we are instantly devoted to the characters and the story. Looking forward for book 2. Thank you so much, BK ✌✌

Review on package arrival condition.
I admire reading author Brigid's books. She is an astounding story weaver magically on the planet of kingdom and queendom.Coming to the point of receiving the package was well and intact-though it has mild yellow quality paper; inking and fonts are moderate to read if you do not have eyesight difficulty and Shiny vibrant cover page looks pleasing. For me, It has been reasonable and a grab of opportunity. Buy and enjoy reading fantastic "Forging Silver Into Stars" without second guess.

So lovely to be back in this world
How I had missed Emberfall. As of the first chapter, I was once again obsessed with this world. This book reads like a train, the characters are wonderful and the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat.I loved the diverse cast of characters and their interactions. While the main characters of the original trilogy still have a very large part to play in this series, the protagonists are now Tycho (the King's Courier), Callyn (a baker), and Jax (a blacksmith). This is a story of friendship, romance, betrayal, and courage. The romance was swoon-worthy <3If you loved the Cursebreakers Trilogy, you will love this new trilogy. Without a doubt: five out of five stars.

An amazing return to the world of Cursebreakers
I absolutely loved this YA romantic fantasy which returned us to the Cursebreakers world. If you’ve read the Cursebreakers series (kicking off with Rhen and Harper in A Curse so Dark and Lonely), you’ll have already met so many of the characters in this story (but its a separate series, you don’t have to read Cursebreakers first… you just SHOULD okay?) Picking up this book and going back to Emberfall and Shyl Shallow was like cozying up in your fave jumper by the fire.So sweet baby Tycho is our main man in this book and he’s not such a sweet baby anymore but we still love him (obviously), and swoon HARD for him. Also swoon worthy - Blacksmith Jax. Poor boy has had it rough. He’s broody and sad and absolute utter perfection (A+ charmer this one). Our third POV character is Callyn and like all Brigid’s leading women, she’s strong and feisty and we love her too. She’s Jax’s best friend and these two would do anything for each other. What did I love about this book? Absolutely everything! Can I say that? Yes I can.The leads were the perfect level of conflicted and confused and of course sweet and charming and lovely. The villains were skin crawlingly awful. The romance made me want to cry tears of swoony joy. (I also cried actual proper sad tears a time or too…)The only bad thing about it… It ended and the rest of the series ISN’T OUT YET.I’m also going to note here, that an absolute stand out for me in this book was Rhen. I’ve always loved Rhen. Even in A Heart So Fierce and Broken when he did THE THING and I just found his appearances in this book and interactions with Tycho to be perfect. The whole book is just perfection okay? End of story.

Pretty cover.
This author has been one of my favourites ever since I read A Curse so Dark and Lonely. The series was fast-pacsd and addictive. I can't wait to dive back into that world.
