Q: Will it block algae growth?

It does block algae growth if you do not have a ton of algae. Reportedly works by not allowing sunshine which is needed for algae blooms.

Q: How well does this pond dye work

I have used a variety of pond dyes for my 1 acre farm pond. This is my favorite. I use 1 bottle in late winter/ early spring and another in mid summer. More if rains are heavy and wash it out. It is a good product.

Q: I have a 4 acre pond...how much will I need?

The dosing for the product starts at 1 bottle (quart) to every acre with an average depth of 4-6 feet. So I would start applying 4 quarts and have an extra on hand. Colorant is largely based on personal preference so 4 quarts would be good starting point. If you want a deeper color than add more. *If your average depth is a lot more than 6 feet you may need more.
