Really silly but really fun
An eccentric doctor in Texas has been breeding dinosaurs secretly at his remote farmhouse. When separate groups of students and a music group arrive in the local town and their vehicles break down, they end up at the doctor's house and mistakenly free the beasts. At this point all hell breaks loose. This is a low budget dinosaur film shot firmly as a comedy and achieving its objective fairly well. The filmmakers have cobbled together two separate groups of strangers plus a couple of locals (including the heroine, a young woman desperate to leave the dead-end town) who all have completely different and, in the main, wacky personalities and then they throw a heap of hungry dinosaurs into the mix. Although there is a lot of running around and screaming, it's all done with gags and silliness that works well if you realise this is the type of film you are watching and are happy to go along with the fun. Note this film isn't Jurassic Park and never sets out to be even remotely so.One area where cheap dinosaur movies tend to fall down is in the special effects department. And while the effects here are not top shelf, generally they are not too bad and there is a mix of digital and practical effects and the digital effects are done well enough to ensure the dinosaurs fit properly into their environment (eg. they actually look like they are walking or running on the ground, not suspended above it).The DVD unfortunately only has a Dolby Stereo soundtrack - a 5.1 mix would have been appreciated.

Ok
Even using its own ‘prime video rating scale’ this doesn’t score that well. The acting is pretty poor. The storyline is shabby, the basic premise is amusing but it’s not well thought out nor written well. It’s watchable, just. But not one of the better dinosaur B films.Must try harder!

Geologically accurate - spoken by a true geologist
Special effects were only rivalled by Jurassic park. There is major character development and all the characters are loveable, you really get a feel for their pain. Complex story line with major world building. Would love a sequel to see more of the characters and see them develop as human beings. I learnt so much about dinosaurs, who knew they were so BLUE! However, not enough scantily clad women so 1 star.

You don't expect to see these roaming around!
Not sure this movie is for everyone, my husband didnt rate it much whilst I thought it was OK. Its a fun movie and if you dont take it seriously and over look some dodgy acting you'll enjoy it. Yes some of the actions of the people being chased by the Dinosaurs were daft but as I said dont take it seriously, in fact, it made me laugh in a few places. I think its worth a watch.

The dinos should be claiming DLA, sorry, PIP!!!
I have loved dino films since I watched The Valley Of The Gwangie, [hard G], when I was in a single figure of age. This film is no match for Jurassic park or any other high budget Hollywood dino film but it's not too bad a story if you don't take it too seriously. If you like your gore,You could ask for more,It may not come tonightBut will fill you fright!Sweet dreams!

Load of rubbish!
We have a general interest in dinosaurs, and are usually happy to see them in fiction - but this is dreadful.

Entertaining
Entertaining but not a Jurassic Park.

Raptor Ranch
Not a brilliant film, but if you want to sit and be entertained it is not bad for a B movie. Acting not great, story night too bad. Could have been better.
