A blessing for already married couples too
I've already recommended this book to about four different couples. I don't know if they've started reading it or not. But I've been doing a study of it with my wife and another couple. It's not just for people who are already married!

Both practical and theologically sound for preparing for marriage!
My wife and I bought a handful of books to work through together before we got married, we found another workbook but it became quickly obvious that it was a little too set on cultural/ worldly ideas of marriage. We also started reading The Meaning of Marriage by Tim Keller but we found that a little too heady and abstract and hard to apply in some ways. Catching Foxes, however, was a great combination of these two things with great reading material and questions to answer in each chapter that pointed us as individuals and as a couple towards Christ. We went through this book with our pre-marital counseling couple from the church and it was extremely helpful to walk through certain topics with an older and wiser couple which the book also suggests doing and gives resources for.

EXCELLENT STUDY OF MARRIAGE FROM A BIBLICAL POINT OF VIEW
The author does a great job of exploring every aspect of the marriage relationship from a biblical perspective. There is hope and encouragement in understanding marriage from Godโs perspective. Henderson helps us understand how to practically apply Godโs truth to the day to day, moment by moment life experienced by a husband and wife.

The Best Marriage Counseling book I've ever used.
I would recommend this book to all who are involved in marriage counseling whether counselor or counselee. It approaches all aspects of marriage from a Biblical perspective with an emphasis on honoring Christ in marriage as part of living out the Christian life. Make no mistake about it, this is thoroughly Biblical Christian counseling presented in a remarkably wholesome, intelligent and practical way. It is a blessing to read.

Highly recommend
This book is such a great resource for couples preparing for marriage! It covers so many topics in a way that facilitates great discussions. I wish there was a bit more instruction and encouragement for day to day interactions. Although I would assume that if all the potential problem areas in your relationship are under control and youโre choosing to love and respect your spouse (as the book talks about) thatโs the other things fall into place.

One if the best premarital books out there!
I am Biblical counselor at an addiction recovery ministry in southern MS. I use this book whenever I get a client that is thinking of getting married while in, or shortly after graduating, our program. I'll allow one of my client's fiance (now wife) speak for the book: "This isn't just a book about how to love my spouse better, it's a book about to love Jesus better."

Singular Point of View
Very Christ-centered but very obviously written without a female perspective. Since it's a book that's supposed to target a couple, I'd recommend for a new edition of this book to have the 'Becoming a Wife' chapter written by a woman or to have at least some female insight. My fiance and I used this book as it is the prescribed one by our church for premarital counseling, but I had to go and seek out women in my church to ask questions that this book sparked. If your church requires it, then that's fine, but if it's not required and you and your partner are more egalitarian, I would look somewhere else.

A Very Helpful Resource for Pre-Marital Counseling!
This book is thorough and presents a true Biblucal approach to pre-marital counseling. It has lots of questions for the couple to chat about and even has three sessions for after the wedding. We would highly recommend this book!

Valuable communication tool and gospel centered
There's never going be "the" pre-marital course/book that is completely extensive, but this one is a VERY good one. It's very gospel-centred, so it reminds all couples that it doesn't matter what happened or what's going on, the gospel of Christ can and will cover it if you allow Him to. The stories and examples help build realistic expectations of marriage, but also give a lot of hope. The chapters on sex were helpful and I think will help guide couples to begin to ask some very important questions.
