Very basic
When I bought this small book (reasonably priced) still expected more in-depth info. on the seashores of UK. The info. is thumbnail only. Good enough for children, I guess 8 - 13. If you seek more detailed info., look elsewhere.

Lovely for a keen, investigative child at the beach.
My daughter had lots of fun spotting all the different plants and creatures from this book, as a break from building castles and whilst on walks. It was educational to learn that there are different types of seaweed and to think about what lives in shells, but exciting and satisfying to hunt through the book and tick off new things each day of the holiday. She is still too young to read all the text, but was happy just ticking at the moment. It would be even more intersting for an older child, if they are interested in nature like she is.

Lovely book
I have a copy of this from 30 years ago when I was a child! Bought recently for a friends children after a beach visit so they can identify their finds next time.

Seashore
Lovely little book. Handy for popping into pocket. Used it on a recent holiday and we found it really helpful. Pictures are paintings and not photos but they are very clear and informative. Covers the species found in the Med aswell as British waters. Useful for identifying crabs as when crabbing you get loads of different types.

Birthday hit.
Bought for 8 year old granddaughter who really enjoyed finding sea life and shells on her holiday and looking them up in the book. Nicely illustrated..
