Great album
If you like the Mavericks, and you like an eclectic range of music, you must have this in your collection, arguably their best ever album (personally it's my second favourite of their 13 studio albums behind "In Time").It's an eclectic mix, two or three tracks are country or countryish and would not be out of place on the early mavericks albums, there's done some beautiful saxophone of Max Abrams on the gently jazzy "Here you come again", and there are some up tempo numbers that enhance an updated concert set list "And we Dance" (a story of a Ukrainian women widowed by the Russian invasion) is one of the most poignant songs I've ever heard, and well worthy of a grammy, combining Raul"s unique vocals with a great guitar and piano arrangement. For a band that's been recording for over 30 years to produce new music of such quality is a outstanding.

Brilliant
What a brilliant album. The moon and stars track is exceptional. Shame about the packaging and lack of notes. You don't seem to get a digital copy, well I can't find one. OK I'm an old bloke that bought this one for my wife, or so I tell people but I'm not kidding anyone the Mavs are great.

It's pure Mavericks although the colour ....
I normally leave the music reviews to my old mate Duncan on Facebook but this time I want to praise the new album from the Mavericks. Called “Moon and Stars” it is quite a mixture, with Mexican overtures in places and occasional memories of someone else – the closing track “Turn Yourself Around” is pure Paul McCartney. Highlights for me are the easy going “A Guitar and a Bottle of Wine”, the opening “The Years Will Not Be Kind” co-written by none other than Bernie Taupin, and the great moody sax on “Here You Come Again”. The album is apparently pressed in “Lunar White” which you can see from the photo looks like a bottle of milk spilled on the turntable, but it does not detract for the music. The LP is a bargain by current prices and quality.

Great album
I am a fan of the Mavericks since their first album which was a country music album. As the years have progressed, their sound has changed to become more of a Latin style with a mix of sounds. The one stand out feature of this group is the superb voice of the lead singer Raul Malo. One of the best voices around and he is backed by a superb band with a great brass section. From the first track The Years will not Be Kind, I knew I was going to enjoy this album. Great song. There then follows more great songs including a great duet with Sierra Ferrell (who is well worth checking out). Some are more country than others and some more Latin or Hispanic. All these songs I think would go down well in concert and that says a lot. The album has a great sound and is a great listen. A great addition to the Mavericks catalogue. If you are fan, buy it, you will enjoy it. If not, this is as good a place to start as any. One of their best in my view. Great album.

Another success
The more I listen to this record, the more I love it. Having been a Mavericks fan for over thirty years I am still amazed at the music they produce. This album seems to take you on a journey from the 60s to the present day with influences from The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and The Beatles and even harks back to the country vibes The Mavericks had in the 90s. Beautifully produced and Raul Malo’s vocals are still fabulous. The boys in the brass section and Percy Cardona on accordion are brilliant as always.

Moon & Stars, Another great album
The Mavericks have done it again. A really eclectic tracklist which keeps this genre-crossing, phenomenal band so exciting on record and sell-out sublime live performances that you'll never forget. Awesome musicians led by the stunning vocal dexterity of Raul Malo. Always an adventure with this great band and its many influences.

A wonderful mix to styles to add to The Mavericks library
I love this band. They add joy to the music in every tune. A nice mix of new styles along with familiar textures and a wonderful duet with Sierra Ferrell. Raul Malo is in fine form and the band just rocks every song. Get it, listen and enjoy!!

Super VINYL
Kaufempfehlung 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
