It did the job
Purchased a thermostat that required a "C" wire. This made meeting that requirement a breeze. Installed it in a storage room directly behind the thermostat location and it just worked.Tip - The wire with a white stripe on it must be connected to the R/RC terminal. The other one is for the C terminal. If you connect them backwards, the thermostat will not work.

So far it's working
Mine just arrived today. After about an hour, I was finally able to get it working with my Nest thermostat which needed a C-wire.The good:1. Fast delivery by Amazon2. The transformer is quiet3. Extra long wire - the outlet can be quite far awayThe bad:1. It's known that most everyone will be using these for their Nest or other smart devices to provide the C-wire. Why in the world use cheap stranded wire instead of 18 or 20 gauge solid? I'd bet half the problem folks who say this doesn't work for their device are not getting good contact between the wires and the device and they give up. Personally, I'd pay an extra couple dollars to have decent solid wire.

it does work!
installed with a Nest Thermostat, (the mirror finish model).Complaint: the only instructions are what is printed on the box! not too helpful and one cannot really get in touch with the manufacturer.Compliment: works. With that thermostat I found that I had to splice together one lead from the transformer to the "R" wire from the boiler going to the thermostat (i.e.: both (one from boiler and one from transformer) wires go to the "R",) and the other lead from the transformer to the "C" of the Nest.In spite of the fact that this is 24V AC, i still ended up having to swap the transformer leads from "R" to "C" a few times to get it all to work. It took a few reboots of the Nest and switching on and off the Gas fired boiler that this controls. So, it does eventually work: bridge the R to one transformer lead and second transformer lead to the "C", reset and reboot a few times before you shoot the thermostat! As far as the fact that this transformer is multi-strand wire, either just solder the tips before inserting into the Nest or splice the multi-strand to the solid core copper that is already on your boiler control wire and use that at the Nest.

It Worked! Instaledl Nest for my millivolt heater
I live in an old San Francisco Victorian. I wanted a smart thermostat, but unfortunately none were compatible with my millivolt Williams console hallway heater thermostat. I purchased this 24 volt transformer along with a Nest (3rd generation) Thermostat. I hooked up the transformer wires to C and RC and the heater wires to W1 and Rh. It works perfectly...so far. I'll update if it fails in the next year.

Lasted 3 weeks!
Had it installed and working for 3 weeks. Got a notification that my wiring changed on the nest but I did not change anything. Went in and checked the technical info on the nest and it did not see both legs of the adapter. Ordered a new one from a different seller and so far so good. Maybe it was a lemon but I won't buy this brand again.

they works perfectly out of the box
I got these to go with smart thermostat I bought from Honeywell. It turns out my house's heating system is old and only has 2 wires. Therefore I needed a C-wire to operate the newly bought smart thermostat.I thought about running a C-wire from the heater(oil) but I learned about these adapters while teaching for a solution online.there are 2 wires coming out of the adapter and the order in which port you connect these don't matter as long as you connect one to C and the other to RC.It worked flawlessly and the installation was super easy.Anyone with screw driver and a drill can install it.

Did the job!!
Saved myself 100s of dollars when I switched from a programmable thermostat to wifi one. I had no power wire (C-wire) initially and instead of paying an electrician to run one.. i used AC24V C-Wire Power Adapter and it worked like a charm. Now I can monitor my thermostat from anywhere thru my app.Would definitely recommend this product

Not reliable
I purchased this product to use with my Nest thermostat. The wires are small and was kind of difficult to get into the thermostat. I did finally get it and it worked fine for about 5-6 months. Then it randomly stopped working. I've tried cutting off the ends, reconnecting it, and tried using different outlets. Nothing worked. This transformer just stopped working and I had to rush order a new one (different brand) in order to get my central air system to work again. Everything is working perfectly now that I have a different transformer connected.

Perfect product to use Smart thermostats in an old home!
This thing is a god-send! Bought a Nest Thermostat E recently to replace my old mercury thermostat. It only had two wires (R and W), and the Nest just wouldn't register any power coming from the R wire. Read online that a C wire might solve the problem, but I live in an apartment building so running a new C wire from the furnace wasn't an option. I was starting to feel a bit hopeless that I would have to resell my Nest and just keep dealing with my terrible old mercury thermostat.Enter this product: set it up in about 20 minutes (with all the screwing and stuff required to install the Nest) and my new thermostat now works perfectly! Put one wire in the R spot of the Nest and one in the C. Also made sure to strip a bit more of the wire cover off and twist up the ends nice and tight since Nest is technically not supposed to support stranded wires.Only downside to this is that you have to run the black wire along your wall which doesn't look AS nice as in-wall wiring would, but it is well worth it to have everything working properly. Would recommend!Included pictures of my old thermostat and my new set-up. Couldn't be happier!

NEST E connected to a 2 wire system successfully
Excellent, works perfectly on NEST E thermostat, I have 2 wire system in my house and the nest was installed with FAST-STAT COMMON MAKER which failed in about one year, leaving us without heat in end of November, thanks to Amazon prime, I got this adapter same day shipping, I connected it and everything was in order, please look at the connection photo if you want to connect NEST E 3 WIRE thermostat to a 2 wire system house using this adapter( - Red wire from house to R slot on thermostat - this wire is black in my case- White wire from house to W1 slot on thermostat - this wire is yellow in my case- Any wire from adapter to C slot on thermostat- The other wire from adapter joins the Red wire from house to R slot on thermostat)

Nest install 3 wire setup
Note before installation unplug and switch off!Trial and error finally discovered the best way to connect. I have a combo heat/ac unit which only has 3 wires. I followed instructions from a guy on youtube and failed. He said to unplug the Rh/Rc and plug this one. The results the thermostat couldn't send the signal to Rh. By joining one end of this wire with Rc and the other to C worked perfectly with Y and W remain the same.

Buy A Different Transformer with hard wires and an LED to confirm power at the source.
Finally had the opportunity to install my new Ecobee SmartThermostat with this transformer. Unfortunately, due to fine filaments for this transformer, it's impossible to insert the wire into the desired slots so that the Ecobee will lock the wires in place. No problem with existing wires but only with these wires. Hard wires will be my only solution. Ecobee would NOT turn on as is.

The specification are not consistent
Although the output voltage is 24 vac (+/- 2%) the current advertised is 500mA, but the current in the transformer indicate 300mA , meaning 40% less what is advertised. After installed in the humidifier system the temperature of the transformer turn very warm. The life expectancy of this device probably not last long. The lack of information is notorious.
