I like to use gel pens. This pens were fun and gave a little different look to incorporate into the pictures.

These pens are great. I love the variety of colors i get.

I really wanted to love these pens. I like them okay but I don't love them. I thought I would add some flare to my journaling but these pens skip when writing and take so long to dry it is difficult to really journal without smudging the page up with your hand and you can't turn the page until it is dry. As another review noted – purple dominates most of the pens. I like purple but I was hoping I would get more of the effect I get with the pencils that are swirled like this. The color does change slightly as you write more but definitely not like shown in the photos of coloring with different hues. I deducted a star from my rating because they're simply not great pens and they don't work as the description indicates. I suppose at the price they're an okay value but depending on your purpose for the pens, this might not be the best choice.

Most (12 of 18, or 2/3) of the pens in this pack have a purple component to the "swirl," and that purple color will dominate the ink that flows out of the pen.That said, the other colors do appear when you write.They'll appear more in the 1/3 of the pens that don't have purple.But maybe you love purple?But then why not just buy a pack of purple pens?The line is pretty smooth, but sometimes you get a colorful line with a white streak in the middle.Update: These pens write on black! Also, they need time to dry, else you’ll end up with a print on the opposite page.

I ordered these pens for doodling because they looked like they would be fun to use and they are! They write very smoothly and the color changes are fun and unexpected. There are plenty of pens in this set to use for quite a while. My only suggestion is to wait for several minutes after writing with them before putting anything on top of the writing or sliding the paper into an envelope because it takes a few minutes for the ink to dry. Overall, these pens work well and are fun to use.
