The ultimate hat you can always have with you.
I absolutely love this hat. The design, materials, functionality, and comfort of the Ultra Adventure Hat are leagues ahead of anything I've owned or worn over the last 30 years (essentially since my bald head started wearing a lot of hats). Quick Take: - Comfort: Very lightweight and easy to wear for hours on end. - Wind Resistance: Rock solid in the wind; no flapping or lifting. - Temperature Control: Between the UPF 50+ material and mesh venting, my head stays cool. - Portability: Folds up very small; it will fit in my front jean pocket. - Design: The hybrid split-brim and neck cape is a game changer. - Rain: Surprisingly great performance in wet weather. Design and Materials ::: The hat features a combination of a split 3.25" wide brim on the front and a 6" neck cape at the back. At first, I thought this hybrid setup might feel awkward or look goofy, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The materials used are high quality, quick to dry, and offer superior sun protection (UPF 50+). I also appreciate the mesh elements that increase airflow and improve both active and passive cooling. The stitching is precise and robust, reinforced exactly where it needs to be. Performance Test: Wind and Rain ::: I tested this hat last weekend during a round of disc golf in 20mph steady winds with gusts much higher. It stayed securely on my head, but what was even more impressive was that the bill never fluttered or agitated in any way. It was rock solid. Additionally, it rained on and off for about an hour. It wasn't torrential or anything, but my head stayed dry, and thanks to the brim, I didn't have to wipe my glasses one time. Because it is so insanely lightweight, I wore it all day and several times just forgot it was there. Even the retention cord is comfortable snug against my chin. Aesthetics ::: I chose the Sand colorway and personally feel it is the perfect option. It is a slightly desaturated earth tone that goes with rust colors, forest greens, and dark ambers, but at the same time pairs well with blacks, grays, and neutrals. Overall ::: In conclusion, this hat is incredibly well-made and exceptionally designed with performance, functionality, and fashion in mind. It is an excellent value. I am most likely going to buy multiple versions to mix and match as well as to keep in various vehicles. Highly recommended.

Great sun protection
I spend a ton of time outside and wanted first rate sun protection and this hat delivers. It’s definitely function over fashion, and I won’t win any beauty prizes, but my neck is covered and the broad brim keeps my ears and face completely shaded. The hat stays put under windy conditions and the sunglasses sleeves did work for me, though I see other reviewers have had some issues. I’ve tossed the hat in the washer twice so far, and it holds its shape. It also dries quickly and is super lightweight and packable. Great choice for birding and gardening, as the broad brim doesn’t impede visibility. Highly recommended if excellent sun protection is your priority.

Great hat
I am thrilled with this hat. It stays in place without cinching it down, and wearing it a tad loose keeps my head cooler. It provides excellent shade, and as I said, it's cool. At least "cool" temperature-wise. I'll still keep my cowboy hat for occasions when I want to look my best, but I'll always wear this one when it's more important to feel my best. Also, I love the way it folds flat and opens curved. It's a great and practical design. My only complaint is that when there's a breeze on my face, the tail flaps noisily behind me. If it bothers me, I might carry a binder clip to hang off the back when the wind is in my face.

Great hat with neat features but not as much shade as larger version
I was recently diagnosed with Lupus so have been buying UPF 50 sun protective hats in various styles to wear for all occasions. I purchased this hat and its larger cousin, the Sunday Afternoon Adventure hat, and have been trying out both in bright sunlight. I think the strength of the Ultra Adventure hat is that it is foldable, has UFP 50 rated vents, has a built in sunglass holder and has a smaller brim than the Adventure Hat. That gives you a little more field of vision. The fabric is also a little lighter weight than the Adventure Hat and is a little less noisy when the flap moves around. However, the things I don't like about the hat are that it lets more sun shine on your face. Since I have Lupus I need to have as much sun coverage as possible. I also think the hat is hotter to wear than the larger Adventure Hat--likely because the vents are lined to have UPF 50 coverage. And I don't know if its just me but the Ultra Adventure hat is larger on me (circumference) than the regular Adventure Hat even though they are both size medium. So it doesn't fit as well and its still too large on the tightest adjustment. I like the hat but prefer the regular Adventure Hat because it has more shade, feels cooler to wear, and fits better. I think overall they are both very good hats but you may prefer one over the other depending on your needs.

The best hat for outdoor use
This is replacing all of my baseball caps that I use for walking and two wide brim hats I’ve used in the past. I absolutely love this it’s so lightweight and comfortable it’s adjustable for days when I wear my hair up I love that I can secure my sunglasses for when I’m walking through a shady trail. If you’ve been shopping for hats and are hesitant, because you can’t try it on look no further. This hat is the real deal for anybody who spends time outdoors.

Great Hat!
I love this hat. It's not the most stylish hat out there, but it is quite possibly the best sun hat you'll find in virtually every other respect. (And really, it's not like it's bad looking. Just maybe not as stylish as some alternatives.) I have used this for hiking, paddle boarding, and doing yard work and it has performed very well each time. It's super light and breathable and my head stays cool the entire time. Truly, it's something you can put on and forget you're even wearing it. I never had to take it off to wipe sweat away or let heat out, or anything like that. And of course, it protects me from the sun. I'm partially bald, and the hair I do still have is cut short, so my scalp has very little sun protection of its own. I need a hat that blocks the harmful UV rays. This hat has a UPF 50+ rating, so it's up to the task. What's amazing is that even the mesh ventilation areas are UPF 50+ rated. This means I don't have to worry about the sun getting through and burning a mesh pattern on my head. And yet, it's still super breathable. Best of both worlds. Also, the chin strap is great for keeping the hat secure when it's windy. Very important when you're on the water or hiking up high on a bluff.

Excellent Sun Protection Hat - Buying My Second One
This is actually my second time purchasing this hat after I left my first one at a conference. I've started taking skin protection more seriously, and this hat delivers exactly what I need. The front brim provides good coverage for my face - something baseball caps simply can't match. The back neck flap offers superior protection compared to typical round-brimmed hats. Stays Put in Wind What really sets this hat apart are the thoughtful design details for securing it. I hate hats that fly off in a light breeze, turning hikes into frustrating battles to keep your hat on. This one features an adjustable clip on the back for a comfortable, secure fit, plus a well-made chin strap that is stitched and appears well made. The strategically placed ventilation panels along the top of the scalp and around the front of the forehead make this hat surprisingly cool and comfortable in hot weather - more so than other high-coverage hats I've tried. Good comprehensive sun protection and comfort. Highly recommended.

Great hat!
Love this hat! Fits well with sufficient shading for my face. Also is lightweight so it's not hot on a warm day. Easily folds up to take on a daylong outing. Will be buying additional colors.

Best hiking hat ever!
This is the best hiking hat I’ve ever had. It’s so practical, offers full sun protection and doesn’t even look dorky! Great for backpacking as there is no back brim to get in the way of your pack. The fact that you can fold it up and pack it flat without ruining the structure of the hat is excellent too. I love this hat so much!!
