WarhammerDARKTIDE - The Miniatures Game

The Darktide board game is pretty cool, as a fan of both the video game and of 40K. It’s a very basic and simplified game that is obviously aimed at introducing fans of the video game to the table top versions of Kill Team and Warhammer, which I think is awesome. I think GW did a fantastic job at making an engaging and easy to understand concept, from the game itself, to assembling the models.As someone who is already in the trenches of the 40K tabletop, it’s just alright. The box is thin cardboard and did not hold up incredibly well during shipping and the models are not exclusive to this box. They used already existing models for the various roles in the game, which is alright, but if I would have been disappointed if I had not known this ahead of time. The game can be played solo, which is cool, it could scratch an itch I have for 40K in the future?If you’re new to 40K or just interested in the tabletop, this is a great sampler. Grab some cheap paints and follow a guide, you’ve got some pretty cool minis to kick off your hobby.If you’re already in the middle of hoarding models and thinking about grabbing this, just know other than the game itself and the box art, there isn’t anything you’re missing out on.For the price, 20 minis and a pretty cool Kill Team spin-off, it’s pretty fair value.

I don't blame the seller or Amazon, I blame Games Workshop for poor packaging. The game arrived in a box, with no packing material, the box the game comes in, is flimsy. As a result the tiles of the game board all had dinged up corners. I returned it, and found a local copy in much better shape.

Terrible, the box came totally damaged, a collectors item with a damaged garbage box, the box is also the thinnest possible cardboard and can barely hold the contents. I was expecting a nice collector box as with Games workshop box game items, but totally thin and garbage cardboard, cannot even keep pieces together, weak for this price of over 90 dollars.
