I used these to fill the top parts of 4 planters, so this review doesn’t apply to how it holds up in a fire pit. There were some really nice sized chunks of glass in these bags. I love the color and it worked perfectly for what I needed and I think it adds a nice touch to my planters.

Made fireplace look great compared to just dark blue. Big pieces are a plus!

These glass rocks are a nice color. They come with some dust all over them, probably from the factory building so much glass pieces, but you can either rinse them first and allow several hot days for them to fully dry, or you can just light them with the dust that eventually comes off. Don't light them wet. My experience with other brands, when wet, they can explode.I lit these for half a day and they didn't explode.My rock pit area is 10" x 40". This 10lb bag fills up about a quarter of the pit to the level I prefer. Hopefully this helps you determine how many bags you'll need for your fire pit.

Thought the glass would be heat proof, but the crackle and break. Scared to use it around the kids. Could have just used my own shattered glass.

Glass pieces were full of dust and dirt! Many small chips that can get into burner causing flameout.Had to remove all glass pieces vacuum out the fire pit, then sort all the tiny pieces of class and discard.I expected better. They should have added a note explaining this or they should have done this before shipping!
