The Compact Guide To World Religions Paperback – March 1, 1996

This is an excellent resource for apologetics. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an overview of world religions from an evangelical Christian perspective. We used this resource to help plan curriculum for our youth group. Lots of good information! It's deep enough to explain things thoroughly, but not so difficult that you get bogged down with details. The information is broken down easily and gives you insight into how to share your faith with people who believe differently than you do.

Good book to help you understand different religious beliefs and also defend your own. Thank you.

The first chapter alone is worth the purchase price!As for the rest of the book, each section is very readable and broken up in bite sized chunks to help not get lost in all the information of some of the more pantheistic religions and their many sects. The contrast and compare portion of each religion with Christianity will be very helpful to see to see similarities (for relate-ability, not compatibility) and differences, that can help avoid creating any unnecessary offenses.

As an international missionary, this book prepared me for the mission field. It is wise to know of customs, culture, and traditions deeply held by people groups all around the world.

Wish it had a spiral spine. Have trouble keeping it flat.

This is a great book to learn about other religion and cultures, especially if you are an evangilist, pastor, minister, or just a lay person. I found the information in this book to be helpful, insightful, enlighten and easy to read and understand until it becomes unexcuseable why the children of darkness is wiser then the children of light. I found other religion in this book that I have never even heard of.

Good review of the major religions of the world. It's a quick summary, not an in-depth kind of book, yet it's helpful, and it has good "Suggestions for Evangelism" among those religions, at the end of each chapter. This book–after all–it's published from a Christian worldview. If you keep that in mind –it's a great resource to any Christian!

Great book. Nice, concise and precise. Written from a Christian perspective, which isn't well communicated in a title unfortunately. For example; tables and charts appear throughout the book comparing contrasting each religion with Christianity. As a Christian seeking to understand and better relate to those of other faiths, this book has been very valuable.
