DOILIES MAKE ANY COFFEE TABLE LOOK GREAT!

awesome designs!
I looked at other books with old patterns that didn't seem clear to me. These are clearly written and beautiful, at least 4 of the 6 are suitable for framing whether crocheted in colors or traditional white/ecru. Highly recommend.

Lovely set of colorful doily patterns ...
What a nice set of lovely colorful doily patterns! I love the combinations of colors -- the soft rusts, aqua, apricot paired with taupe, blues -- and the patterns perfectly bring out the contrast when different colors are used. Most have a floral theme, too -- just super nice. The difficulty level ranges from easy ("Marigolds" on page 14 and "Forget-Me-Not" on page 30) to experienced ("White Shamrocks" on page 26), with the rest being rated intermediate. However, even the designs rated as "easy" require a knowledge that seems to me to be more "advanced beginner," so keep that in mind. You might want to start with a couple of easier patterns in one of the "how to crochet with thread for beginners" books that are available. That said, most intermediate crocheters should have no problems with these patterns. They call for size 10 cotton -- fairly standard for doilies -- and hook sizes ranging from 1.5mm to 1.9mm - again, fairly standard hook sizes. Like most doilies, you'll need to block these upon completion. I usually just wet mine down with a spritz of water, then pin it to a piece of foam board covered with plastic wrap, and leave overnight. If I need to stiffen it, I used one of the readily available stiffeners, but that happens rarely. Usually, just stretching/pinning/drying does the trick.Glad I added this one to my collection. It's really nice and I'll be making several more (I've already completed two of the patterns).

Doilies in Color
I've made two of these patterns and they are beautiful. I've never made doilies before. These came out so nice I'm scared I'll wind up covering my home with them. I am even reserving a space on my bathroom wall for one. Oh, well. The two I made are on the cover on the upper right and left. The one on the left is huge, about 28." It became a bit tedious after a while, but the final product was worth it. It will go on my small dining room table which has a glass, three foot table top.I didn't encounter any mistakes in the patterns. I did write out each round, step by step so that they would be easier for me to follow.I washed and blocked them which I can't imagine not doing. The difference between blocked and not blocked, I thought, was rather dramatic. This book was a nice introduction to doily making for me. The instructions were easy to follow, the stitches were not difficult and the doilies came out very nice.

Love this book
I love this pattern book but…. I wasn’t impressed with the condition of this book when it arrived as it was bent and crinkled. I am very careful with all my books and this makes me wince every time I pick it up to use it.

I bought these as a gift for a friend! She LOVED it! She has already started a couple of the patterns for new projects! Thank you!
