Fortune's Daughters

WONDERFUL
Loved this book. After reading and giving five stars to Three Daughters this novel deserves the same. The author has crafted another richly detailed story of interwoven lives, that (once again) I enjoyed as much as my favourite author, John Irving's books.. I hope there are more to come.

An insight into human relationships
This book flowed beautifully, not only giving you the human side but also the historical. The characters became so real you can visualise them.A sequel would work as some of the minor characters fade into the background and you want to know what happens to them too.

An account of a difficult growing up
Growing up mixed race, Chinese/ American, in-between wars from the turn of the century. A beautiful story of hope and faith, lost and found. It's a touching story.

Bitter sweet
What a very enjoyable read, the characters seem so real . Lives lived an difficult time when for some life wasn't certainty and in the end all was good

Perfect holiday read
The perfect holiday read. Interesting characters you grow to love (and hate) and an intricate weaving plot keeps you hooked until the end.

Captivating and engrossing story.
Another winner from this excellent author. Fascinating tale of survival and success in America at the turn of the last century.
