Excellent low cost basic cooker!
Excellent basic cooker, without paying for the higher end non-stick bowl / digital features. For those folks who say they get burnt rice, learn to make rice with a rice cooker! Add the proper amount of water! Minimum is 15 cups of uncooked rice to be used for this unit, don’t use less than that or you’ll get over cooked/burnt rice. Here’s a quick tip from myself who’s been cooking rice since I was 8 years old (that’s almost 40 years of making rice almost every night, that’s close to 12,000 times of rice making!): Rinse the rice 3-4 times before use, until water is pretty clear. Soak the rice for 15mins to soften the kernels, each field harvest of rice is different so some need no soaking other times, you’ll need to soak, you need to see for yourself. Cook the rice in the cooker. Once rice cooker is “done”, LEAVE it in the cooker for 15mins to firm up. Do not touch the lid, leave it for the 15mins. Then using the supplied spatula mix the rice carefully by “folding” the rice (the objective is to go slow, so you don’t break the grains of rice too much) from the outer rims to the center and then from the middle/bottom to the top. Then you put the lid back on & let it sit in the warm setting for another 15mins before it’s ready to serve. I’ve been cooking Chinese long grain, Japanese short grain, California Calrose this method with no problem spanning dozen of rice cookers. Oh yes, taught by many Chinese chefs & Japanese sushi chefs, the rule of thumb I follow is never to use the full capacity of a rice cooker or you’ll get unmanageable rice (90% of max. capacity). So with a 60-cups cooker I never will use more than 55 cups. I’ve cooked for myself to cooking rice for hundreds of commmunity volunteers so I know what I’m talking about.

Very nice
I really like this 60 cup rice cooker. You can cook as little as 10 cups or 20, 30, 40, 50, 60. Just a tip read the instruction manual just because you have used a rice cooker before you should not assume that everything will be the same. When you cook large amounts somethings may differ. Like they recommend waiting 20 after the cook light switch to warm for the rice to complete its cooking cycle.I usually cook 30 cups every Monday and store it in smart spin containers. I eat it all week and start over again. I have learned to make rice many different ways and I save soooooo much money and time. I used to use a little rice cooker and I had to wash it and use it day after day. Now with this rice cooker I can cook and clean my food for a week in under 1 hour.As another reviewer stated the top edge is sharp so you should be careful. I have also used this to make pasta based on another reviewers remarks. You must watch over it while it cooks and have the lid cracked properly or it will boil over. The instructions say only to use this cooker for making rice so I am only mentioning what I have done with good success. You should exercise caution if you decide to use it in ways that go against recommendations of the manufacturer.I like this rice cooker so much I am considering buying a backup to put in storage in case this one should ever fail and they are not being made anymore. My quick rice recipe1 dash pepper2 table spoons olive oil1/2 cup diced ham1/4 cup diced green olives1/4 cup diced cheese (your choice)4 cups cooked ricestir and serveGoodluck,Matthew

Excellent quality, so simple and easy!
We were making six pounds of rice for my family which lasted about two days and needed something to reduce the time to make the rice. This came highly rated and for good reason. It appears to be well made, is very simple to use and very easy to clean as well, requiring no removal of lids, etc. The one issue that came up immediately was that the rice stuck to the bottom of the pan. This is not a no stick pot. I read somewhere that rubbing oil on the pain might help. I used a soft brush to rub extra virgin olive oil on the pan sides and bottom (takes a few seconds) and have not had a problem since!

Long Term, Small Restaurant review- warning enclosed
We operate a small food establishment in Jamaica and the staple here is rice and peas, the peas are pressured/cooked beforehand and then added to the rice...it has been our experience that it will not cook a FULL pot, some remains uncooked at the top, that said it may just be that the electricity supply cycles at 50hz instead of 60hz which is the US standard. When we cook 2/3 -3/4 it does a great job and has been very reliable thus far and it's used 6 days a weekEDIT: OK, we still use this cooker and our business has grown so now we use 3 of these at one time and I would say we have bought maybe 15+ of these over the last couple of years. To be fair we abuse these things in that as soon as one set of rice is finished we put on another set, they do not like this and will often on the 3rd or 4th "cook" switch off prematurely as they just cannot handle the pace, especially now as we have loads of extra cook pots so we will prep rice and do one after the other.Last thing and this is important:the handles are held on by little screws that inserted from the inside - they have no washer and are just screwed into the black rubber/plastic handle.I have taken to removing all the handles as over time the heat and handling makes the screw work loose and as happened to us already...... the screw will fall into the rice, i cannot begin to tell you what kinds of problems that could cause- we were lucky and a staff member caught it.I have taken a bunch of lids to a welder to add a handle to solve this- still love the product though and stand by the 4 star review

No es de uso rudo.
La compré hace 6 meses aproximadamente y ya está fallando mucho, tal vez no es para uso comercial, se bota antes de dejar el arroz bien cocido.
