Fabulous Toastie Machine
This is just outstanding. Trust me, there is a massive difference to using this compared to a normal cheap toastie machine. Instead of flat glued together toastie with cheese ingrained into bread, you get a wonderful crisp result and perfect toastie.Easy to clean and store. Really well built.Exceeded expectations but totally justified paying a little more as you get what you pay for.

Another Sage masterpiece!
We have a Sage Mini Oven and Sage Pressure Cooker/Slow Cooker - both excellent bits of kit. They are well-designed, easy to use and produce great results. The Sandwich Toaster does not disappoint. Another well-built and easy to use product that produces restaurant-quality toasted sandwiches. My only reservation was that the heated plates are not removeable, but this is no problem at all. They are very high quality, super-smooth non-stick so nothing sticks! Just a quick wipe over (when its cooled down) and you are done. Dearer than our previous one (handle snapped off when squeezing down on a probably too-thick toastie) but definitely worth it. As my dear old dad used to say - "buy cheap, buy twice" Highly recommended :)

Taken the place of the toasted sandwich maker
I fancied a new toasted bun/panini toaster in place of my sandwich toaster which would always leak cheese, the bread never fitted perfectly and couldn't do open toasties. After lots of consideration I bit the bullet and opted for this one, hoping the higher price would reflect the quality and functionality. At first sight I wasn't convinced I'd made the right choice but that thought was soon to be proved wrong. Now, if like us you've had a toasted sandwich maker and can't be bothered with all the faffing around so you seldom use it, this could be the answer. I love that you can put almost any bread or rolls in it. The lid comes down almost horizontal so it sits flat on top of the sandwich or roll (unless it's very big). It hasn't been one of those novelties which get used every day for a week and then become covered in dust or buried at the back of the cupboard, quite the opposite in fact. It's so simple to use, just one switch to turn it on and no messing about with temperature settings. It can be used to toast or melt cheese and warm toppings with the ability to lock it in a position just above the food. I've been using the panini rolls from the superstore and filling with parma ham, swiss cheese (Emmental) and cranberry sauce. Also ham with sliced apple is yummy. I open toast them a little then close them and put the top down, which just rests gently on top of the panini. It's so much more versatile than a toasted sandwich maker and less messy. I always wipe the surfaces with a little cooking oil or olive oil before turning it on, just to season the plates and help to keep things from sticking. I also brush the outside of the rolls with a little olive oil which leaves the toasties or panini with a golden brown tasty finish. To clean it I just use some kitchen towel and vegetable oil to wipe the surface clean. The nonstick is very good but I like to give that extra bit of oil just to ensure nothing sticks and make cleaning as easy as just wiping it clean (when it's cooled considerably and only warm)

Excellent performance
Excellent machine. Toasts and browns beautifully. Replacement for the George Foreman which was incredibly disappointing despite reviews. It’s a lot cheaper but waste of money. Buy Sage - you get what you pay for.

Fabulous toasties! Slight niggle..
Love this toasties maker. It's so easy to clean and have dealt with triangles and tasty crusts for years. I just think this does it more evenly and looks so much better once cooked. My only criticism for a missing star.. The coiled sprung cable guide connecting the two plates.. It rusts on contact with a wet surface. I store this in a deep drawer and that spring contacts the drawer base, any moisture still on the device when it goes I the drawer the runs to this point (with the maker stood on end as designed for storage) then, rust develops on the spring. It does remind me of the last Sage product I bought.. A stainless kettle tea brewer. Rusted and corroded from day 1.. I think you need to work on your material selections a little more thoroughly Sage.. Otherwise, excellent innovation and design, love it..

Great quality sandwich maker
I love this sandwich maker! It's great quality, easy to clean, and makes great toasted sandwiches. The crush control is a great feature - comes in handy when toasting American-style pancakes.

it does what it says- suitable large slices and larger fillings
I am a fan of Sage re-price/performance and reliability, this is a sandwich maker that keeps this up. You can use it with leftover, oversized slices of sourdough .........dare I say man size ;)
