STELLAR Sounding IEMs. Might have gotten a funky cable, though.
Edit; (Changed from 4 to 5 stars) They saw my review and offered to send me another cable. While it did take quite a while to get a replacement, the replacement did solve all of the intermittent issues that I was having with the left driver.Wow... These are so good that I don't know where to begin. The unboxing experience is premium, with an extensive accessory kit that includes various tips and cable options.Packaging and Accessories:IO Audio spares no expense in the accessory department. The VOLARE comes with a plethora of tips, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit. The stock cable adds to the premium feel. While the locking mechanism for the plugs initially felt clunky, the tight fit feels reliable. However, the left 2-pin plug detaches unexpectedly every now and then, highlighting a potential area for improvement in future iterations. Despite these minor concerns, the cable's rubberized sheath covering and minimal cable noise contribute to a hassle-free listening experience, further enhancing the VOLARE's appeal. I did notice some occasional, very hard to notice noise in the left IEM that would come and go. I could not reproduce this when using other cables so perhaps there are some kinks to work out here.Fit/Design:The VOLARE not only looks impressive but also feels comfortable during extended listening sessions. Despite its medium-sized shell, it managed to fit securely in my ears, aided by the inclusion of various tip options. The overall design exudes elegance and craftsmanship, making them feel as good as they look.Sound:The VOLARE's sonic performance is where it truly shines. While it doesn’t demand high amplification, pairing it with a quality source elevates the listening experience. The bass is authoritative yet controlled, providing a solid foundation without overpowering the other frequencies. Moving to the midrange, the clarity and coherence are exceptional, with vocals retaining their natural timbre and instrument separation being top-notch. The treble region sparkles with energy and precision, adding airiness to the overall sound signature. The instrument separation is remarkable, thanks to the black background and crisp transients, creating a 3D holographic soundstage that immerses me in every detail.Bass:The VOLARE's bass performance is impressive with its robust sub-bass extension and articulate delivery. It strikes a balance between impact and detail, providing a solid foundation for various musical genres. While I found that the texture was slightly lacking, the overall presentation remained dynamic and engaging without getting in the way of the mids at all.Midrange:In the midrange, the VOLARE excels with excellent clarity and coherence. Male and female vocals are rendered accurately with richness and clarity, maintaining a natural tonality. While there is a forwardness in the presence region, the midrange offers a nuanced and immersive listening experience.Treble:The VOLARE's treble region is has energetic transients and well-defined emphasis, adding a touch of shimmer and airiness to the sound. High-frequency instruments are reproduced with well with great detail, contributing to an immersive listening experience. While I have heard more emphasis in the upper treble on other sets, the overall presentation remains engaging and enjoyable without even coming close to being sibilant at higher volumes, so that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make that I think is fair.Verdict:Overall, the IO Audio VOLARE is a stellar set of IEMs that delivers on multiple fronts. From its striking design to its comfortable fit and exceptional sound quality, I was impressed at every turn. While there may be minor concerns regarding build quality and bass texture, they are outweighed by its technical prowess and sonic performance. Whether for critical listening or immersive gaming experiences, the VOLARE stands out as a versatile, compelling option in its price range. With its meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail, I give the VOLARE high praise and can't recommend these enough! IO Audio has set a high bar with the VOLARE, leaving me eagerly anticipating their future offerings.Pros:Outstanding technical performance.Elegant design and comfortable fit for extended listening sessions.Versatile sound signature suitable for various genres and applications.Cons:Potential issues with cable connectors.Bass texture may leave me wanting more depth.Overall Rating: 4/5

Extraordinary sound! They punch WAY above their price
These Volare's from IO Audio are tremendous. The sound quality is stunning. Highs are extremely detailed and mary. The mid-range is very realistic sounding with natural timbre. The bass is punchy, textured, and authoritative when it needs to be, but doesn't overwhelm the rest of the sound spectrum. The soundstange created by these IEM's is quite holographic. It's not unrealistically wide, but it also doesn't sound too "stuck in your head". I think it's just about perfect. The fit is just right. With foam tips, they stay in my ear extremely well and keep a right seal. It does seem like they require a little bit of power to sound with their best. However, I'm really struggling to find definitive faults. Also, the presentation is exemplary for this price range. There are tons of tips, and nifty adapter system and a quality cable. I guess the only thing I could say I took notice with, is a slight bit of sibilance with older, or poorer recordings. The electrostatic drivers are very high resolution, though, so I can't really fault the tuning. Overall, these truly sound like $1,000+ in ears. Great first effort by IO Audio!

I don't know...
Well for a product that costs $600 I'd say these are very quiet and not as loud as many other IEM's in the market. I personally am not a fan of these IEM's I expected them to be loud and detailed and just blow me away but not even close. I feel like I get better results from a $70 IEM than these. I was excited I thought they where going to be absolutely killer and got very disappointed in them.
