Brazilian Playground

I love the Putumayo series of children's music. I owned a children's play center and wanted music playing in the background. Some children's song can be very, let's say, annoying for adult to be subjected to for hours at a time. I and others found these CDs to be fabulous! With music from around the world, children are exposed to different languages, rhythms and instruments. I highly recommend these CDs!

LOVED THIS. Hard to find as they are not making this anymore. IF you love the different sounds of Brazilian music this is for you. Such a diverse selection of rhythms .

My husband is Brazilian, and we wanted to find some fun, kid-appropriate Brazilian music for our daughter. All three of us love this CD. The songs are fun, the music is great, and I am not sick of it after listening to it every day for over a month.

Really???? They call this a CD for kids??? “Xote das meninas”, for example is talking about girls wanting to date boys and that’s all that they think about. Really??? Not happy at all!

This is a great compilation of different types and regions of Brazilian music.My son loves it and even sings along with it. Very soothing and relaxing and a big break from nursery rhymes and other kids music. Something both adults and children can enjoy.

My husband is from Brazil and I bought this for our 2 year old daughter. We all love to either have it play in the background while we play or to dance around to.

I got this CD so that my young son could listen to some Portuguese in the car. I am Brazilian and most songs were rural-sounding to me, meaning from Brazil's 'back country'. If you like that sort of style, than by all means get the CD. For me, it was overall just OK and would not have purchased had I had a preview of hearing the songs.

Great album. So sorry it is out of print. Three cheers for being able to buy used copies through Amazon.

I am a big fan of the Putamayo kids music. This is one of their best. We play it over and over and I'm still not sick of it. Both the kids and the parents like this one. It's mellow, happy and great to dance to too.

I bought this as a present for my 4 year old daughter. She's been driving us crazy playing the same kids music over and over, so I decided to look for some music that we might all like and not mind hearing 10 times a day...It's worked, we are all in love with the songs. I also like the booklet which tells you a bit about Brazil and about each song. My daughter enjoys listening and talking about the songs. It would have been nice to have the full lyrics as we all really want to properly sing along!All in all, a great CD to have in any children's (and adult) collection and I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the CDs in the Putumayo series.

Very appropriate for children. Often other Brazilian children's music incorporates words or meanings that I would not be comfortable exposing my children to, but this does a wonderful meshing of beautiful music.

Great CD that I have used in my classroom as part of a rainforest topic - none of the songs are sung in English but that added to the charm of the songs and I found the children sang along anyway!Each song has a description in the leaflet and the children enjoyed hearing what the song was a bout, especially the one about an old rubbish car!!
