Very small and powerful.
This is a great little radio, but not really ideal for a beginner or someone not willing to learn how to operate a ham radio. It will do exactly what you want it to do but in an entirely differnt way than a regular CB. If you struggle to set the knobs on a 29 you probably wonโt be happy with this. (Not trying to be rude, but just saying) I bought this along with a new antenna and until I tuned the antenna it said error every time I keyed it up. Once I trimmed the steel whip down it started working and was able to get things going. This is really a great feature to protect itself from high SWRโs I didnโt realize from the description or reviews that this displays a lot of useful info on the display like incoming voltage, outgoing power, and SWR. I even checked the SWR against a meter I know and itโs acurate. (I managed to get it down to almost 1 during most conditions on channel 20. It goes up a litt but as you change the channel either way which is good and normal. Understanding SWR is a fascinating study and very useful for operating radioโs) I noticed on some reviews that there were comments about it coming on when you plug it in and there is a setting to turn that off. I set the automatic squelch control to 5 and adjust the RF gain as needed (usually 12 or 15) and have been amazed at how well that works. I love how it mutes when you do a quick tap to the power button. There are plenty of idiots out there that Iโm not really interested in hearing too much of lol. My first CB was a cobra 19+ that I got for Christmas from my grandmother back in 1986 or so. Iโve been playing with radioโs ever since and this is probably one of my favorite radios yet. My last one was a connex and I really liked that one too.

Great am fm for the money
Great radio wish it had ssb

Vehicle radio for sure because of perfect size
My favorite small radio for vehicle. Everything you need or want other thank SSB. Hard to find any small radios that have that. Sometimes the display goes white, just need to cut power to fix. Only issue I have.

Beyond expectations
Hello Anybody, Purchased this radio as a base station FM rig. Iโm impressed with the sensitivity and ease-of-use. programming was easy even without the software. Iโm used to using these part 90 radios so not much of an issue. I really like the display, & the speaker has plenty of audio punch. Iโm not too happy with the Mr. potato head microphone. The number of times I have activated the uptown channel buttons on the side of the Mic; every radio Iโve ever used has had those on the top. I now keep those buttons locked until I need to use them- thankfully thereโs a lock switch on the mic. I really like the display, the speaker has plenty of audio punch. Overall I think bang for the buck I paid $97.10 for this shipped; how do you beat that? I probably would not use this radio mobile as 25 watts just seems A bit thin for my liking. It should work in most instances for local repeater use, I think itโs just fine- 73 & CUL , KC6KIM

WOW! holy spaghettimonster this thing gets out! I just talked over 2125km's on CB 11m AM
great transceiver, I am loving it! not to sure how this performs on close communications but I am very pleased with it. I've got also a VHF / UHF transceiver in my car but that one doesn't cut it. I can talk sometimes with people 50km's away on VHF/UHF, line of sight but then again not with others that are 1km away. haven't tested talking to the same 1km-person with this transceiver but I am confident that 11m (10m) is much much better than VHF/UHF. VHF/UHF is silent, with this thing I seem to be able to talk over distance and actually be able to get a hold of someone in case of an emergency away from cell-phone-coverage. VHF/UHF doesn't cut it at all for me! I like the size of this transceiver. I wanted to purchase one that had ssb but there is none available that has a decent size. the american built rigs look like from the 50's and / or have the size of a refrigerator or chest-freezer. No wonder radios have disappeared from the modern cars over time, who wants to drive around with a refrigerator sized brick that look like from the 50's! if you are looking for a CB radio transceiver that is not refrigerator-sized not chest-freezer sized look at: Stryker SR-94HPC Cobra 19 MINI Radioddity CB-27 I just made successful contact with "cry baby" in atlanta georgia and "randy" from alabama on 27.205 (CB channel 20). I am located out of the dominican republic north-coast and have this installed on / in my car, using a tram-browning BR-140 antenna: @1178mm = 27.192 SWR: 1.14 26.965 = SWR: 1.60 27.405 = SWR: 1.46 that's a distance of 2125km's, WOW! when I keyed the mike I saw the displayed voltage on the radio drop from 13.7V to 13.1V. I will change out the stock cabling that the radio came with to further improve performance. 01.05.2022 today I spoke to someone in new york state. what I am making use of seems to be the so called "Sporadic E" propagation which is supposed to be an "unusual" form of radio propagation using characteristics of the Earth's ionosphere. for me it is not so sporadic nor unusual, it seems to work all the time and every day. and it works both ways, people respond to me and I can talk to them!

Awesome little radio for the price
So far it is a great little radio, the squelch is not as good as some of the other radios out there but other than that it works well, it kicks ass and has a lot of punch from a tiny little radio. Definitely no excuse to not have an HF radio in your car. As you know most modern cars don't have very many places to put a full-size rig in them without looking way out of place or interfering with comfort of the Driver or passenger. This radio fits anywhere and I was able to install it in my center consol so it is hidden from the eyes of thieves when they are looking for something to steal. Here's an update, the noise blanker feature does not do much. It picks up every bit of noise around when I drive past powerlines and such. Other than that it's still a great little radio but does lack a few features that the bigger radios have. Look at it size though the thing is tiny so I can look past the features that it's missing

This is a HAM Radio out the box need to mod to have CB frequencies.
I'd give it 5 stars I haven't broadcasted yet on it. Be advised that this is a HAM Radio you can mod it (find a technician or research) but by modding it you will lose your warranty(ies) with it. Overall easy to install and ready to rock if you are a HAM Operator. If you are going to use it as a CB, you need to mod it. Fast shipping. Will do business in the future.

Stryker SR-94HPC - Nice radio -
Stryker SR-94HPC - Nice radio, Have to add a board into it to be able to program for repeaters - it is not a 12 meter radio as the description states- it is a 10 meter only, out of the box. Nice to have in the jeep- semi compact size - love the display- easy to set up. Nice for an inexpensive radio for simple communication on the 10 meter band- Great for what I use it for.
