As wgg said in his 2019 review, quite a few of these were defective. Hex socket size inconsistent, and threads not consistent. Things are no better now.I have some screws of this size with a button head and they work fine for me.The photo has the button head on the left and this item on the right. (Don't worry about the length difference - they are measure differently in these screw types)A couple of things to add:1) Some of the other reviews mentioned wrong length. Please note that countersunk screws are measured differently from most screws and length is to top of the head. This is a mistake in the other reviews.2) This is a better option for screws that will actually work for you. These might have only 6mm of threads and are 8mm total, but they're definitely not the right length.

I finally went thru the whole 100 pieces. 25 were defective, most too small, but some were too big. I suspect that the defect rate is actually higher since some seem to work until you actually try to drive them into the hole, and would fail part way in. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 4 out of the first 16 bolts were defective. The hex socket was undersized, most of the time, some were too large. I tried two different hex drives, which I had used successfully on other bolts with no trouble, and both drives had the same problem. Hope the defect rate goes down as I use more of these.

As others said, the hex slot is whacked. Too big or too small and even a little rounded. I found almost no useable screws.They're scrap metal.
