Cheaper than OEM cores, seem to work just fine
I got these for some RhinoRack cross bars, and they work great. OEM cores were $60 for 4 cores and 2 keys, and had a 2-3 week delivery time, so these came in handy for a fraction of the price.

At a way better price than OEM, these fit fine in my rack. Had to play with them a bit to get it to cooperate but Iโm sure the OEM would be the same game.

Poor design - hard to get key into.
Install went fine. Had some trouble getting key into slots - went on trip. Needed to adjust bar and could not get key into one of the locks and another was tricky. Sprayed with lube and tried three times for 5-10 minutes each time. Tried again and it opened finally. The slot wonโt open for the key to even start to go in. I was about to take a hammer and screwdriver to it (which of course I did not have on my trip and would have had to buy). Did not relock once open. Got home and the 2nd hardest one would not open. Iโm replacing with OEM.

Looks the same as the thule ones
They are sorta cheap and hard to insert but I doubt the ones from thule are much different. They are just to keep the face plate on the mounts so its wouldn't take much to steal the roof rack. Like all locks it's about keeping honest people honest. If someone really wants to steal your stuff they will do it no matter what lock you have. These are good enough and way cheaper than the ones thule offers

Cheaply made but does the job
They fit ok, and work. The quality control isn't great and I had to wiggle the key and locks to get them to fit into the rack, but these are also a fraction of what a full set from Thule would cost so I can't complain.

Effective set of lock cores/cylinders!
My son managed to get a pair of OE roof racks from a salvage yard for his 2003 VW Jetta, but they didn't have the endcaps. He asked me to design a set for him that could be 3D-printed, so I ordered this set of lock cylinders, and incorporated a spot for them. The cylinders work great, and perform the job well. I'm not sure if Thule manufactured the OE roof racks for VW or not, and I've never had the OE endcaps to go off of, so not sure how well these would have worked in that application. But they were perfect for our application, where I could design/tweak the encap to receive and retain this cylinder. I've put the endcap design on Thingiverse (thing 7250921) for anyone wishing to do something similar. From a visual inspection of the provided keys and those in the ad, it looks like the bitting for the cylinders and keys may be universal, so they are obviously not going to provide high security. They'll keep honest people honest, which is all we can probably expect. I didn't use the provided "mounting key" as I initially didn't know its application, and designed my endcap to have the cylinder inserted/removed with the operating key, and a press of the retaining wafer at the distal end of the cylinder.

Just as good as Thule cores if not better...
These work great with my Thule roof rack. I think they are even better than the Thule cores since they do not have the key number on them so no chance of someone with that key taking your rack or gear.

Good but universal key not compatible with Thule locks
Locks are good but the change key is not compatible with Thule locks. There is also no code on the keys to identify for backup or replacement.
