Great Affordable Option.
This affordable option has proven to be a game-changer for my filming process. First off, it’s super versatile because you can either plug it into the wall or power it with batteries. And here’s the best part: it uses Sony NP batteries, the same ones we use for our cameras, lights, and pretty much everything else. So, compatibility is a breeze! Thankfully, one is provided, so that saves you the extra investment. Now, I’m not a seasoned monitor expert, so I can’t compare it to every monitor out there but this one is pretty impressive for the price. The bigger, brighter screen lets you see so much more detail in your shots. The resolution is perfect for its size at 1280x800—you can hardly see the pixels unless you’re really looking for them! Plus, it comes with a handy sunshade that attaches to Velcro. Super convenient! I have read reviews about cheaper monitors, and a lot of people complained about latency issues. This one seems to be fine. It’s fantastic for framing your shots. There’s minimal latency. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s very light. This is great for reducing fatigue during handheld or run-and-gun shoots, but it does mean it’s more likely to break if you drop it. It has a bit of a cheap plastic feel, and while I haven’t tested it, I imagine it could snap if you really tried. But if you’re careful and not prone to rough handling, this shouldn’t be an issue. The monitor has some handy features, such as 4 customizable function buttons. I often use the focus assist, centre markers, and safe frames—especially useful when planning to add an anamorphic letterbox. Another point to consider is that while the screen is better than the one on the back of most cameras, it’s not a significant leap in quality compared to other field monitors in a similar price range. The brightness and detail are good but not outstanding. This is primarily for your basic needs, such as checking focus and exposure. This monitor has been incredibly useful. I use it for framing, focusing, and even as a guide when presenting to the camera. It’s also perfect for overhead shots. Honestly, I didn’t expect a monitor to make such a difference, but it really has. If you’re on the fence about getting one, just go for it. They’re incredibly handy! If you film a lot of action shots and need a robust option, this simply isn’t it. The build quality really is its only drawback. In summary, the FW759 is a solid choice if you need an affordable, versatile field monitor. It’s light, functional, and compatible with common batteries, making it a good fit for various shooting scenarios. However, its build quality leaves something to be desired, and it might not be durable enough for tougher shooting conditions. If you’re careful with your gear and don’t need the extra features of higher-end models, this monitor could be a great addition to your setup.Hope this review helps someone out.

sharp image
The 7-inch IPS display is bright and vibrant, showing off my footage in stunning detail. This monitor lets me see everything ideally, so I can be confident I'm capturing high-quality shots. It has both HDMI input and output, which allows me to connect it to my camera, a recorder, or even another monitor. The built-in focus peaking and zebra stripes features are a huge help with getting sharp, accurate focus, especially in critical situations. And, it has other image processing tools like histogram and false colour that can be helpful for setting exposure and colour balance. The battery lasts a long time and is great for extended shoots. I also appreciate the included storage case, which keeps the monitor and accessories organised and protected when I'm on the go.
