perfect for people who wanna keep track of readings
without writing it all down, Iphone app seems to be a little easier to use than android but overall I love it bc i do hydo and i like to keep logs of every reading I take and this just keeps me from writing it all down on paper. Can even go from android to iphone or vice versa just gotta make sure app syncs up before you close out and you can switch over to other device. Very accurate and gives you something to measure your solution and also calibration solutions which is a plus bc would have to buy regardless and has enough to last a while too. Never heard of brand before so was little worried but after reading reviews and actually using this device i dont really wanna go back to anything else to be honest. Love everything about backlight is nice old meter didnt have so always had to shine light on it in the dark to see if i was in low light situations. Almost wanna get the all in one meter with tds just so i got data on everything. But atm this will do as i just write PPM in notes section on logging so no bg deal but just one more extra step i wouldnt have to do if I get the combo meter. Anyways great product you wont be disappointed just dont forget distilled water as you need to dip probe in it to use/calibrate so will need that other than that it has everything to get you going.

Great product for the price
Good bang for the buck. Reliable and accurate ph meter when calibrated correctly and used the right way. Definitely Look forward to seeing how long it will list but also Apera offers warranty so I look forward to using this product

Best way to test pool pH
This is a true game changer for pool pH testing. This meter makes pH testing so much faster, easier and more precise. Just have to also purchase the calibration and storage solution refill set and be sure recalibrate it about once every four-six months (this is with daily testing multiple times) and it should last and provide accurate results indefinitely.

Use for soil testing. Works great for a few months and fails. Have used 3 new probes. Don’t buy.
I use this meter to monitor the Ph of soil for growing blueberries. Blueberries require a very acidic soil and it’s hard to maintain an acid soil for them so constant amendments are added to the soil to acidify it. This meter works flawlessly to spot check soil to know if it’s acidic enough or not in grow pots. Also use it to monitor soil after we have treated it to make sure it’s moving in the right direction. Treated soil takes 6months to a year to get ready before planting. I check the soil in multiple spots once a month. Much better than taking sample into the local extension office to check my soil. Really easy to use and calibrate. I really like that you can calibrate it and know your results will be accurate. I will mention I paid the extra for the Bluetooth version, however the app is lacking. UPDATE. The probe will fail in 8months or so. This is normal per mfg. I have went though 3 probes. One only lasted a couple months. at nearly $200 for a replacement probe this is an expensive consumable. I would look elsewhere unless you want to spend 200 a year to use it.

Tech support very good.
I had a problem with my newly purchased unit. I contacted Apera tech support and they quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad probe and sent me a replacement. Working fine now. Support communication was straight forward and prompt. Any product can have problems. Good technical support is critical.

Don't be like me and cheap out on a PH meter. This is the real deal
This is my review of the Apera PH-60z (Bluetooth model) First off this is basically the same exact model of Apera's PH-60 it has replaceable sensors as well as different sensor attachments for things like food, pure water, etc. The only difference between this (PH-60Z) model and the regular PH-60 is the Bluetooth functionality and the device has a clear back case that allows you to see the internal boards and batteries. Functionality: I'm using this meter to measure PH in my plant feed/water I have tried all the cheap PH meters (looking at you Vivosun) made by the lowest bidder in China. None of them compare to a high quality meter like this PH-60Z. If you were only measuring TDS (total desolved solids) then I'd say go with a cheap one like Vivosun because the technology there isn't that hard. When it comes to PH don't trust those cheap ones they will be inaccurate and become uncalibrated fairly quickly. Don't make my mistake and waste money by trying to save money! If you are using this for growing in coco coir you only have a small window range of PH (5.5-6.2) to work with so plants can uptake nutrients. Don't waste months giving your plants improper PH levels because the cheap meter you used. Spend the extra coin and get an Apera like this one. You'll be happy you did. You could even get the regular PH60 (non Bluetooth for half this price around $79 US dollars. I payed $129 for this Bluetooth model. Bluetooth functionality: I went with Bluetooth so that I could connect it to the ZenTest app. When measuring PH you may have to insert the sensor into a small opening making it very difficult to read the screen. Thr Bluetooth version eliminates that problem by sending the data to the app. It also logs every single reading and fluctuations it detects. Customer service: Customer service appears to by USA based and has a direct phone number to support which is good in the unlikely event of an issue. Overall opinion: This is an excellent PH meter that will hopefully last me a long time and leaves me with confidence that if an issue were to arrise the company would stand by their product.

First time PH meter user
Having to calibrate a PH meter is unfortunate, but this Apera PH60S-Z makes it so simple and fast using the ZenTest App. I can do a 3 point calibration in around 90 seconds. I appreciate having a web app to make tests and document each test detail.

Actually gives a stable and consistent reading.

Calibration and measurement are straightforward. Once calibrated in the morning, I took several readings of aqueous solutions during the day, and the readings seemed to be OK. I knocked one star off the rating for the fact, that there was black mold in the storage cap for the tip upon arrival. I am aware that the tip needs to be kept moist, but mold can and must be avoided on a precision instrument like this. Now I am worrying about storing the device for longer time during the warmer summer season.
