High quality
I bought this heat unit for my restaurant and I was concerned because i dont want to burn or overcook our food. We do fine dining and it is critical to get out the plate as the chef intended. I am blown away by the heat it generates evenly over a healthy two foot wide span along with the length of the unit. This unit does not "cook" or overcook. It seems to hit a sweet spot by putting out enough heat to maintain the intended food temp. Highly highly recommend.

It gets hot, keeps food warm.
I used this to keep a medium well top sirloin roast and some well done chuck roast hot on a buffet for New Years Eve. It warmed up to its hottest within five minutes. I didn't time it, I just know that within five minutes it was hot and didn't get any hotter. The heat from the warmer kept my food hot. The roasts were out on the line for about three hours.I broke into the second well done chuck roast at about the two hour mark. It didn't get overheated while sitting under the lamp. It was still well done, but not dry. After the initial rush of guests, the cut end of the top sirloin did seem to get a bit hot and dry between cuts (as did the well done chuck, which was expected) but I can't say if that would have happened or not with any other lamp. I do feel like this warmer could use one more height setting on the legs to raise it up just a little higher. The warmer came with a little lite bulb. The bulb was broken upon opening the package, so I can't discuss how useful the light is unless I'm able to find another (or the company decides to send a replacement). See two pictures attempting to show bulb filament isn't functional. While plugged in, even while the switch is set to off, the heating element on mine does feel a little warm. I don't have a laser thermometer and my instant reads were not giving me consistent readings of the element. If I get a laser thermometer I will give that another look.I don't think I'll be using this more than once a month, but just for the sake of testing the switch, I may keep it out and run it from time to time to see how durable the switch and element are for frequent home use.My guests commented on the brilliance of the shine. Overall, I'm happy with the product after the first use. Time will tell if the value is worth the cost.

Doesn’t last more then 3 months
It seems that with this company the switches end up breaking making to unable to use again.

Don't buy.
There was a fire on the inside of the heat lamp after 2 months of use.
