Does What It Says
What's to say? It's a tripod, it's non-ferrous, and it's lightweight. It works.

Decent tripod
Bought this with the ball and socket mount and compass. This looks flimsy, but the tripod is stable and well built.

Necessary, but low quality
This compass is so sensitive that I have to remove my belt buckle, pocket knife and sidearm and set them 10 ft away to get consistent measurements. Therefor the non magnetic tripod is necessary. But its quality is pretty low, seems like they bought a $25 tripod and then replaced a few of the steel fasteners with brass ones and resold it at a $100 markup. Its a shame because I love the Compass, but everytime I use it the tripod puts a bad taste in my mouth as I feel I have been ripped off. This makes me develop negative feelings towards the brand... unfortunately.

Lightweight Champ.
For anyone who adventures outdoors with a compass or transit, a reliable, non-magnetic tripod is essential. The Brunton Non-Magnetic Tripod fits the bill perfectly. This tripod is a dream for backpackers and anyone who values keeping their pack light. It's incredibly compact, folding down to just 19 inches. Super easy to pack virtually anywhere, and the minimal bulk won't weigh you down either. Unlike many tripods, the Brunton is built entirely from non-magnetic materials. This ensures your compass or transit readings stay precise, whether you're navigating to a hidden campsite or taking stargazing measurements. As an amateur astronomy photographer, this has been the perfect tripod for me. It's well made and solid in construction. And it's simple functionality and ease of use are the icing on the cake. This really ticked all the boxes for me, highly recommend!

very pricey
This tripod is very pricey, especially for a very basic tripod. It is non-magnetic, which I guess is helpful for using with a fancy compass? Mine did not come with a compass, so I can't really say. I can always put a head on it and use it for my camera, and it is lightweight and easy to carry. The legs are in 3 sections and have points on the end to secure it in soft ground so it won't fall over. I don't know how effective that will be on rock. It comes up to an okay height, unless you are over 6', which I am, so if I were to use it for a camera it would be too short. No, I won't use it for a camera, because it has no real functionality, other that being 3 legged and non-magnetic. I will point out again that is is very pricey.

Lightweight, nicely made, very specialized.
Overall perfect tripod for what it's designed for, holding a compass/transit. Absolutely no ferrous components anywhere on it to affect readings. Extremely lightweight, but nicely made. Gave four stars instead of 5 because leg extension lock rings don't positively clamp the leg tubes the way a photography tripod does. Even cranking them down as hard as you can, you are still able to push the legs in using only moderate force. Haven't had a leg slip, but wouldn't try to use it to support anything above a kilo.

Works
The locking and unlocking of the telescopic legs is a bit difficult
