Wild: A Journey from Lost to Found

Honest, Intense and full of Life
Cheryl writes from the heart. This story is more than just a travelogue. Its an intimate portrayal of her vulnerable side. She tells us about her battle with depression and addiction. Also, the book is an antithesis of the self-help genre, thankfully. Some wounds need a lot of time and air to heal, is one of the core messages, which is beautifully told.

Absolute favourite!
This book goes into my favorite list! Its a true story of Cheryl Strayed who goes out on a solo hike Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) for over 1100 miles. This trip was more of an escape route for Cheryl from the grief after her mother's death, to whom she was very close. She was inexperienced for a hike of that extent. But by the end of it she rediscovers herself. The story telling style of Cheryl makes it an absolute pleasure to read. I would say it a must read for all women.Amazon's service, as always, is great.

What a journey!
Although I may never hike the PCT myself, it was thoroughly rewarding to be on the journey with Cheryl with the help of this book. It's both--a journey of actual 1100 miles through all kinds of landscapes as well as a journey from being broken inside to bring healed in the end, sprinkled with humour and heart warming 'sweet happenings' on the trail.
