Virtually Unknown tech and for good reason
Because it’s mirrored movement is in reverse. The view is bubbled and distorted the image and the viewing range is about what you would get with any cheap vr headset. Its doesn’t feel like a hologram just VR that’s slightly see through. There is no app and things like 360 video can’t even benefit because of the reverse movement issue. Its not easy to line up your phone so getting a non blurry image is hit or miss and it feels very cheaply made. If you still want to try get the cheapest one you can find and you may find some joy in it. The controller is a mouse that can navigate android but wont work on most games so useless. A big let down I’ll give a star for potential. I Have seen people make these things and they look better then this though. I will say if it at least movement and control were accurate I would keep it but thats a complete deal breaker

if your head is smaller than 5 inches round ... this might be right for you
most peoples heads are larger than 5 inches round ... so returning (or going to attempt to return the product) The head band is adjustable to 5 maybe six inches ... that's it. I would love to say something positive about the rest of the product ... but can't as I can't use it.

Just to clear some things up, know what you are buying
I did not buy one, although I am still tempted. But I did watch a review on Linus Tech Tips about a similar device, possibly the same patent, and the other reviewers clearly didn't understand that while this COULD be used with VR, that isn't what this is.This is AR (augmented reality) which means we aren't looking for a virtual experience, we are seeking a integrated experience where you are still doing whatever it is you do and you can still interact with your surroundings in real life while simultaneously getting data from your electronic platforms, whatever can interact with the headset. It looks like this design might work with a cell phone, which would make sense. The product description is confusing, the original designer has what appears to be a small industry in Japan. He was a big engineer on similar projects in VR before he broke off to focus on this. I would not be so dismissive of a young technology at this price point. I may buy one just to support the technological development. The applications are what a person needs to consider: the ability, in the short term, for being able to watch movies while laying in bed, hands free, on public transport, even, possibly while walking around, cleaning house, or surfing the net while exercising... all these possibilities we don't have with our current smartphones and computers, at least not on this scale. I say, judge the tech in that light, but don't compare this with a VR 360 platform and then get mad because there is no comparison. There isn't supposed to be.PSA: Say what you want about stupid people getting distracted by it. People are still going to text while driving. That is a problem that can, and still needs to be addressed by automotive manufacturers and phone manufacturers working in tandem and the public and our governments need to hold them collectively accountable for not addressing a large and serious problem sooner.

The equipment is nice, but....
The equipment was nice and all, but there was no instruction in it's use and required the user to play with it a while. Unless you understand Chinese, of course. From what I gathered by researching the manufacturer, this does well in China particularly when using the software. The apps, though, don't operate on an iPhone (and that's my fault; I didn't read it carefully enough). As is, it's not really "augmented" as I don't see how the phone's camera is integrated into the display. As already mentioned, it's a transparent display overlay that has no integration with visible environments.
