This mat has saved the day. Before receiving this mat I was using a rug to cover the transition between our tile and carpet. Our cat was able to grab the rug and pull on it and was tearing it up. Once I install this matt the cat has no stopped trying to scratch. The mat reminds me of the mats that go unser a computer chiar. It is a thick material and comes rolled up. I did use a heat gun to soften the roll to help it lay flat. It was easy to cut and get the exact shape I needed. The mat does a great job syating in place on the carpet. I did have to add some tape on the tile side to keep it from moving.

The Panther Armor Scratch-Proof Carpet Protector for Pets is versatile, and easy to use. It's a great way to keep my kitty from trying to tear my floor up. It comes rolled up, but there's several ways to get it ready to use, and set up. It can be rolled the other direction, heated up with a hair dryer, and/or set items on the corners. It's adjustable, so it can be fit, and cut to size, for wherever you want to place it. It's pretty long/wide as well, and I was able to use it for two different places. Cutting to fit it where I have it wasn't difficult either - I just used a large, strong, and sharp, pair of scissors. It is high quality, thick, sturdy, and durable. Really easy to clean too. It stays in place, doesn't harm my floor/carpet in any way, and definitely keeps my kitty from tearing it up in a couple places (which also saves me money, not having to replace the carpet).

I put this on a carpeted stair step that my cat had decided to routinely attack. It is indeed protecting it now and it stays in place fine but I was hoping it would be less opaque.The plastic is pretty thick and in this use case on a step, it's a difficult to keep it tacked down over the edge of the step.Reasonably easy to cut to size but be sure you have a really good pair of scissors, or are really good with a utility knife.

This carpet protector arrived quickly and does look as it's shown in the product images, however it did not cling to my carpet. I have a few cats, 2 of which don't get along - so on occasions I separate them but they still reach under the door at each other and tear/lift the carpets edge. I thought this would be a good solution to save the carpet from being further destroyed. I lined the protector at my doorway to size it down, which was very time consuming as My frame has quite a few divots and needed quite a bit of modifying (trial and error). I initially tried cutting through the mat with a box cutter, but quickly realized that due to the thickness of the protector, it would not work. I ended up using scissors to install it. Prior to this mat I had been using a front door mat to cover the doorways carpet, but they were scratching that up as well. Once I got it cut down to match the frame to the best of my ability, it still would not stick in place into my carpet and felt unsecure to walk on. I tried laying the doormat back in place to where I had it and then placed the protector over it (For whatever reason it stuck into the mat incredibly well), but I'm not a fan of how that looks and it still felt a bit slippery to walk on. I have quite a few younger children so this was a dealbreaker for me personally. I unfortunately can't say I would recommend it.

Perfect application! We had staples coming through our carpet and needed a solution. This is marvelous. I used a razor blade to cut and shape the edges to our door jam. It stays in place. A perfect solution! Thanks a million!
