Super impressed with this little machine. I had a large demo job of some old steam shell and tube exchangers and it did its job very well. The tanks were quite large 4ft diameter, about 15ft long and 1/4”-3/8” thick. This cutter was able to cut the 1/4” shells in long cuts making the job quick, i ran it at its max 55amps almost the entire time with about 65psi of air. Rarely did i hit the duty cycle. I did burn through the electrodes provided, granted the metal was dirty with alot of sediment in it and my air was not very dry, but a pack of electrodes are cheap and you should just have extras on hand anyways. For the price to value ratio, its worth it.

This is a wonderful beginner plasma cutter. I was skeptical until doing some research and finding out that some are contact start the surface you are cutting has to be bare metal. This one can cut painted and rusted metal which is exactly what I needed. It’s easy to set up and worked perfectly first try. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great beginner plasma cutter at a great price!

I bought this unit a year ago. The assembly instructions were confusing, and I ended up hooking up the air regulator backwards. Since it wouldn't work, I contacted the Amazon customer service contact point. I was told I would have to buy to parts. I let it sit for close to a year and again contacted customer service, but via ARCCAPTAIN website, not Amazon. I received quick responses and within a couple days they had shipping the new parts (from China) at no cost. I assembled the machine and have tried it out. It works quite well. I like the guard at the tip which keeps one from shorting out the tip like other models I have had. I knocked off one star on account of the confusing instructions.

It’s a good value if you get a machine that actually works, I literally just got this yesterday and put it together to find out that it has a bad internal ground connection problem. How I found this issue, was whether or not I had the ground connected, it did the same thing. Then to top it off, good luck getting support from ArcCaptain. Tried customer support twice at two different times, no ones available, no call back option. 1star until my issue is resolved

I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable plasma cutter. It cuts as described.

Love it. Made life easier

Got this a couple weeks ago. Got it set up yesterday. Everything appeared fine. I had some pieces of 1/4” steel plates to test it out. Made some cuts that totaled about 10 seconds. I was very impressed. With everything set up to start my project today it would not work. Display looked correct. Ground was connected. Air was flowing. No spark so no cut. I packaged it up for return and very disappointed. I understand it’s not an expensive name brand but my expectations were it would last for more than a day for some home hobby projects. Not sure what brand to choose but it won’t be this one. Update: Customer service contacted me. We were able to work out a way for me to get a new unit. They were very helpful. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Thanks so much Spring.

Works surprisingly well. Does all it is advertised to do.

Following directions to connect everything and did some test cuts. Exactly what I need for my auto restoration project! Small and light the ArcCaptain Cut 55 is worth every penny.
