Good quality, but not quite square
This is an update to my previous review. In it, I complained that the bracket was not quite square. It is important for an L bracket to be square so that when you change the orientation of the camera by removing the bracket from the tripod and then attaching the other arm of the bracket to the tripod, the camera remains parallel to the ground.Actually, the bracket IS square, but with a caveat. The bracket is always mounted to the bottom of the camera, but you have to decide how close you want the side arm of the bracket to the side of the camera. If you mount the bracket right next to the side of the camera, so that the camera forces the short arm to be fully extended, then it is square. But if you leave a gap between the short arm of the bracket and the side of the camera, then the bracket sags just a bit, and the camera will not be parallel to the ground. This is not a problem if you don't mind the camera not being mounted in the center of the tripod. But in my case, with the bracket adjusted so that the short arm is right against the side of the camera, I can't mount the center of the camera above the center of the tripod -- the bracket is too far to one side.To address this, I have made a shim that fits between the bracket and the camera to force the bracket to be square. This works, but it was a pain to make and it will be a pain to make sure it does not fall out.I thought it would be nice to have a folding bracket so that it did not take up a lot of room when it was not in use. But what I have found is that I leave it attached to the camera all the time, so a rigid L bracket would not have been a problem that way, and I would not have had to mess with a shim.I still think the bracket is well made, and it CAN be made to work, so I am leaving my review at four stars.ORIGINAL REVIEWThe L bracket is very well made. It has a lot of attachment points. The folding mechanism works well. My only complaint is that when the L bracket is extended, the two sides are not quite square. When changing the camera from horizontal to vertical orientation, or vice versa, you have to adjust the tripod head to bring the camera back to level. Although the folding feature is convenient because it saves a lot of space, I am not sure if I would have bought it if I had known that the bracket was not square.

L-side bracket does not stay at 90 degrees unless under tension
I am using this for panoramic photography with a variety of digital cameras. It works fine and is compact. However, one has to take care -- when taking vertical format photographs with a tripod -- that the L-bracket is pushed against the camera body, because otherwise, the camera is not held at 90 degrees from horizontal. It's about 5 degrees off, which is enough to throw off stitching of vertical format photos. This is a bit of a nuisance, which is why I'm rating it lower than 5 stars. That being said, when used very carefully, it works fine, and I'll be keeping it because I'm not sure any of the other "folding" L-brackets are any better!

Good quality and dud foresight on how it could and can be used
I really wanted to like this folding L bracket for use with my Sony a6400. It is a nice looking "L" bracket. Quality is good. But it had one serious design fail for me: The spacing of the threaded holes on the plates do not correspond with hole spacing used on SmallRig and NiceyRig cages. That means that accessories for those cages, like grips and handles, can't be attached to this bracket. That makes it pretty much a failure here and a return item. If you're going to perforate a plate with threaded holes, make sure they match up with something else on the market. Otherwise it's just decoration. Also, as noted by others, the bracket is not exactly rigid, there's a fair amount of play in the hinge.

Very good quality part
I'm impressed with this bracket, honestly it's more well-engineered than I expected. It folks down nice and compact, opens easily, and the lockup is satisfying and sturdy. It has ARCA-Swiss rails, a cold-shoe mount, and plenty of threaded holes for accessories.I saw a review stating that the slot was too small for the screw; it's meant to be, so that the screw doesn't fall out. There is a widened part at the end of the slot, this is a threaded hole for the screw to go into and once it's screwed in, the mounting screw remains captive so you don't lose it.
