King of Wall Street

I found my King !!
Firstly I've took a few days of processing my thoughts before writing this review because King Of Wall Street rendered me speechless ( that's an achievement for anyone to do to me lol - I'm a talker ;) ) however Louise Bay literally left my thought processing scattered to the wind after I finished this book !! I knew exactly how I was feeling but I just couldn't conjure the vocabulary that expressed it to really do this book justice......I can only hope this review does portray the absolute brilliance of this read! This is now the fifth novel I've read from this author and I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with any of her books but this story set it apart. Louise Bay is now a go to author for me in that I will click any of her titles that is released as I know I'm not going to be disappointed.King Of Wall Street without doubt has to be a firm favourite of mine for certain. I was extremely lucky to receive this book as an ARC and it arrived on my kindle at 7pm, after mummy duties were fulfilled and the children were asleep I dived straight in at about 10pm.By 3.30am I was reading the last page and left feeling in total awe of this authors ability to suck me into the fictional world she created. I could NOT put this book down - the sleep deprivation was so worth it !!Not only was the story line intense and mind gripping for me but the humour and character interaction was consuming as well. I felt like I was part of this book, almost like an extra character that was observing the scene from within the scene. Any author that can make you feel immersed in the performance they are describing is worth their weight in gold in my view and has accomplished their job. Reading is often described as zoning out of reality for a while and being lost in a fantasy - well this author ticked the box twice with this story.Even though this book was gifted to me as an ARC I will most definitely still be clicking this on release day - that's my way of not only supporting indie authors but also thanking this author for an amazing reading experience. I even went back and re-read the next day too. From the first page I read I was hooked in the story. I could feel the tension immediately between the two main protagonists and it wasn't a lust tension but a frustration tension.Max King is described as the King of Wall Street for a reason- he's ruthless and gets results by being ruthless. His reputation is one of utter control and he's known for being ice cold in his interactions. This serves him well as he has no other priorities other than work or his 14 yr old daughter Amanda.Enter Harper Jayne into Max's world and his axis don't just shift they become non existent. Harper really throws him of balance which annoys him that one of his employees can have an effect on him so much. The icy tension can be cut through with a knife yet bubbling away below the surface is a heated desire both are desperate to contain from breaking free.Throughout their journey I felt every emotion they endured because of the authors ability to deliver the scene using full descriptive language that really binds you to the characters.I love that Max was a father in this story and not just your typical millionaire alpha male because this gave so much more depth to him and brought a sense of reality. His interactions with his teenage counterpart were spot on and down right hilarious - it took me back to my stroppy 14 year old self and made me giggle ! Well Done Louise you captured that perfectly. To conclude (without going on to give away any spoilers) this is a must read, whether your an avid fan of this author or your new to her work you won't be disappointed with this read :)

Read every Louise Bay book you can find - they're all fantastic
I enjoyed this book, that's almost a guarantee with this author, but in my opinion its not the best one she's written. Yes, its good and will keep you mightily entertained - hence the 4 star rating - literally any and all of her other books are better. I particularly like that some of her stories are set in London, some in the US, and others cross the Pond. She also uses connected characters so there is a thread of continuity so you feel like you know the people she is writing about. That said, you don't really need to read them in a precise order. If you haven't read any of Louise Bay's other books - lucky you, there's much for you to enjoy.

Wow!!!
Absolutely tremendous book. I loved this from start to finish. The characters were so believable, the story sweet and raunchy and nothing cheesy in the whole book. The humour from Max’s sisters was so funny and it felt like these people were real. Will definitely be looking for more from this author.

Entertaining hot stuff
An entertaining enemies to lovers erotic romance. Well written high powered but cold boss and ambitious employee with issues story. The narration is well done and easy to listen to. Definitely NSW but fun to listen to..

Boring
I just didn't connect with this book as clearly the other reviewers did. I found the plot boring, slow and my mind wandering while reading it (which is never a good sign).Neither character was fully flushed out. And because they were so two dimensional I found them hard to connect with. There really was zero back story with either which can help this process. The biggest thing for me was that they lacked chemistry. Some books are so well written the characters ooze it off the page. Not this one. While the sex scenes were well written I just didn't feel that draw to one another that all good romance novels have.Must admit that I am really disappointed with this book, especially after reading the positive reviews first.

Nice story hot read
I did not take to the heroine Harper Jayne who has obsessed over Max King since her college days. Her goal on completing education was to work for Max King of King & Associates. Whilst she admires Max, maybe even in a bit of lust for him she has a twisted view of men as her mother was left to raise her alone. Sat waiting for the promised visits by a daddy who never came instilled in her a deep distrust and a hatred for the man who made her. It goes deeper though as she watched all three of her half siblings accept jobs at JD Stanley whilst she was never even offered and she so wanted to slap him down.Grace her best friend helps her move into her new apartment, they are sat drinking wine and laughing over the verbal abuse her report gained her from Max when they hear sounds from the apartment above which goes from heels clicking across the floor to panting, moaning and begging and the headboard smacking the wall all indicate someone upstairs is having more fun than them. What she doesn't realise is its her boss!Various run ins with Max lead to sessions in bed and conversation of "this bedroom is Vegas" and discussions on this is one off. Each time Max handles it badly and Harper becomes increasingly hostile. (I do wish she would zip her gob and give him a chance to say what he needs to!!)Harper misjudges Max when she discovers that he has a teenage daughter and never married the mother. Then she thinks he is using her for an in with her father so when he removes her from the team her reaction is hostile, completely over the top with misreading the situation. Two weeks pass and Grace finally convinces her to turn her phone on and listen. She even gets Harper to visit her father to talk because until she puts down this crusade against her father she will never move on.This is a tale of forgiveness and a poster event on how important communication is in a relationship, especially if you want it to move forward. Yes they do get their HEA!
