Hyrule Warriors with all of the DLC from the Wii U & 3DS versions. A must for Musou/Warriors fans.
For the most part, Hyrule Warriors for the Nintendo Switch is a faithful port that provides all of the previous released DLC content for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS versions of the game. All of the characters and extra content is there, and if you're a fan of the Zelda games and the Warriors/Musou style of gameplay, you're in for a big treat. Gameplay is fast and the objectives are clear and focused. Maps are easy to decipher and the controls are intuitive and responsive. The Musou games have come a long way in that regard, and while it doesn't feel quite as fast as Fire Emblem Warriors, it's a close second. If you've previously played this game on the Wii U or 3DS, the gameplay, maps and missions will largely be as you remember. The only areas where this doesn't quite live up to the Wii U version is the omission of online connectivity on the Adventure Mode (no more "Network Links," yes...that is a pun). While this isn't a deal breaker, and the game finds other ways to get your challenge and rare items in, I do miss seeing them and the challenge of playing on a stage with a higher level "Network Link." Another change for the worse (versus the Wii U version) is that two player games come via splitscreen. Now the splitscreen is fine, and works as well as it does in Fire Emblem Warriors (and better than it does in a lot of the older Musou games), but if you played the original release on the Wii U, where one player plays on the fullscreen TV and the other on the screen of the Wii U Controller (something you simply cannot do on the Switch), then it is a step-down. New in this version (at least to those who originally played on the Wii U) is the previously 3DS-only My Fairy mode, while allows you to find fairies on the battle maps and then feed, dress and generally level them up. How you feed and dress your fairy will impact your stats in some way, depending on how it is equipped and what level the fairy has attained. This is a nice touch, and my girls absolutely love it. Daddy just wishes there were some facial hair options, but he'll get over it (there's always Tingle). Also new is the inclusion of new Breath of the Wild costumes in this version. It's a cool inclusion, and the other players in the household seem to enjoy them, although this player will always go with the Classic "Excuse me Princess" tunic. Ultimately, if you've never played Hyrule Warriors before, then this is a must buy. If you're done with Fire Emblem Warriors and want another Musou fix on the Switch, then this is a must-buy. If you want to play Hyrule Warriors on the go, with all of the DLC, but have only ever played the Wii U version, then again, this is a must buy. I'm not all that crazy about how Nintendo has basically rereleased all of the top-tier Wii U titles on the Switch, but most of the games, like this one, are standouts. Hyrule Warriors was one of my favorite games on the Wii U, and now it's one of my favorites on the Switch. It's good to see it on a platform where it will get its due.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition Review
Seeing as I played this game on the "new" 3DS XL I can make somewhat of a proper review. First of all I never played the Wii U version, so I don't know if there was any particular differences from the Wii U Version from the 3DS version. Anyways, this is the complete package of Hyrule Warriors right here. 1. It's more graphically impressive and runs at a steady 60 FPS 1080P on docked mode. Defently superior than the Wii U version and 3DS version graphics and FPS. 2. You get ALL the DLC, from the DLC characters and maps! Hell of a deal. You also get the 2 exlusive costumes for link and zelda from breath of the wild, they look pretty nice. 3. There are 9 adventure mode maps. I don't remeber how many the 3DS had but I think it was only 2, then the 2 DLC adventure mode maps.... And then I think nintendo put an extra 6 adventure mode maps exlusive for the switch? I could be wrong but in any case after you completed the main campaign this mode is were your going to spend most of your time in. They also added a shop were you can buy items in adventure mode for ruppies, which thank god they did otherwise the grind would be double as long. 4. There are now level 4+ wepons if I remember correctly from Nintendo's direct. 5. The fairy system is nothing new but ya, it's there. 6. It's a warriors game, It's GOING to be very repetitive. If you just finish the main story and thats it... Then you only played 1/3 of the game. You can easily lock in HUNDREDS of hours to grind for your skill tree, find heart containers and gold sulkas or whatever it's called. Oh right another new addition they apparently added in is that you can now switch between characters in combat, even though I'm pretty sure you could do it in the 3DS version as well. Hyrule Warriors is probably the best warriors game to date. It's refreshing to play link with his master sword and hyland shield without breaking it (looking at you BOTW). So ya even if your not a warriors fan, you should play it anyways if your a zelda fan.

The game is everything I expected it to be and more.
Like my headline says, the game is AMAZING. It mixes Dynasty Warriors with The Legend of Zelda and works wonderfully together. I love the easiness of the controls too; nothing complicated about them. Combos are easily to pull off and being able to dodge after an attack helps you stay on the offensive and offer defensive capabilities too. The story mode, or Legend Mode, is fun to get into. I will admit that I had to stay on my toes a few times as my NPC teammates needed my help before they fled, but otherwise, it's a lot of fun to do. Finding the Gold Skulltulas took me back to finding them on Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask: well hidden and in spots you wouldn't see. In this game during battle, dashing over to catch one was challenging in itself. Adventure Mode to me is a huge plus. After Legend Mode, you can go through the game even further and play through the different Zelda games, starting with the Legend of Zelda on a grid map with each grid offering a battle that you have to complete in order to expand your map further. Some battles require you to use a specific character and others will have different challenges to them such as not being able to use item attacks like the Bow. It's worth leveling up your characters so they can handle anything that comes their way and you'll be rewarded handsomely for doing so. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is either a huge Zelda fan like myself or a Dynasty Warriors fan. Nintendo, Koei Tecmo, Omega, and Team Ninja made one heck of a great game and I have hooked to it from the moment I got it.

EVERYTHING NEW
If you only played the Wii U version, there are significant changes and additions. I see a lot of people forgetting some of them so heres everything. 1. All DLC/Update/Legends characters. The original Hyrule Warriors for wii u had 13 characters. This version has 29 (Not including Ganon and Cuccoo). 2. You can now change characters mid battle and command other character to go places. You have between 1-4 people you bring into battle and easily cycle in between them. (This was originally introduced in Legends) 4. You can now use the Ocarina the warp to certain Owl Statues around the map. (Originally introduced in Legends) 5. During giant boss fights you gain boosts by bringing you other characters near the battle. (Originally introduced in Legends) 6. Apart from the main story, there are now Linkles Story, Cias Story, and Windwaker Story. (From DLC and Legends) 7. Challenge Mode and Ganons Fury (where you play as a huge Ganon) are included. (Originally from DLC, they were not in Legends) 8. Tons of new costumes and weapons from past updates, DLC, Legends. 9. There are 9 adventure maps now (not including the rewards map from skultullas) 10. My Fairy is a new system where you can create and dress your own fairy to help you in battle. (Originally introduced in Legends) 11. Adventure Mode now has a store where you can buy items instead of grinding for them. 12. All non-story characters must be unlocked through adventure mode maps. Same with all weapons and costumes. (All of this was originally just given to you in DLC. It would be automatically unlocked) 13. 2 player is now split-screen 14. Various changes to certain menus to include more info. For example: Adventure Mode maps now have a difficulty rating and percentage complete. Skill trees now have a percentage complete. Ect. 15. Framerate and Graphical upgrades/ more people on screen at once

A good Zelda game, and a fantastic Dynasty Warriors game!
I've been playing Dynasty Warriors game since it was a fighting game on PS1. I know what to expect (endless combat and one dimensional plot). Hyrule Warriors however exceeded these expectations. First, the game is beautifully rendered and the environments are immersive. Second, the branching story-line really helps extend the game-play. Third, the variety of combat between the characters is great. Finally, and most importantly, I feel like the missions are challenging but fun. I don't think I've ever seen a Dynasty Warriors mission with so many twists in the plot that had me running (and teleporting) all over the map to take care of a sudden urgent issue that inevitably pops up. I feel like I'm physically worn out after a single mission. Back to the story, I love how it blends characters and locations from past Legend of Zelda games to form a new story. Having only been a casual player of any Zelda game past the first on NES, it helps me learn more about lore and history of Hyrule. My only con is the badge system, that requires you to build all the badges separately for each character. It's a bit tedious. The leveling aspect is nice though, where you can exchange Rupies for quickly leveling up characters you don't personally use as much (useful when they join you on a mission so they can at least hold their own and not constantly require your assistance). Highly recommend!

For those who have never played a Warriors game before...
I would honestly avoid this game if you fall into one of these categories: a.) You plan on playing this game solo b.) Zelda theme doesn't tickle your fancy c.) You've already played the 3DS or Wii U Version (I don't believe the updates are worth $60?) I've never played a Warriors game before - but really enjoyed the idea of playing this local co-op with my wife. She is a completionist, collector and story lover - typically grinding and scouring every square inch of <insert every JRPG title here>. I am a zero attention span hack and slash fiend (think Diablo 3) who only cares to find the next mob to plow through in hopes of finding that beautiful orange glow in the midst of a pile of corpses... Needless to say, we don't play a ton of games together :) Introductions out of the way -- this game weirdly falls in between that spectrum in the best way possible. While the combat system is fairly repetitive, the strategy aspect of a Warriors game has been really fun and keeps it from getting stale. My wife and I have been playing through the multitudes of characters, leveling them up as we go through the story mode. It has been a blast so far to split up and each tackle separate objectives as they come about through each level - only to come back together to fight the boss in the end. We played one of the first few missions 3 times in a row just to find the heart piece of Linkle that we kept missing. There is definitely a lot of content here - and the Zelda theme is what really tied it all together for us. We know the characters and worlds of each Zelda game fairly well - and they have been introduced into the game alongside the characters wonderfully. At the end of the day, yes, it is a repetitive hack n' slash game -- but with leveling up all (25+) characters, weapons, costumes, the fairy system, multiple game modes (adventure mode!) and more -- this game gives you quite a bit of things to do - and might even be the perfect fit for that local co-op experience with your significant other! :D

My #1 Switch game
If you own a Switch and do not have this title, you're doing it wrong. As a fan of previous Dynasty Warriors games (specifically DW3 on PS2) and also a fan of the Zelda universe, this game is an absolute blast to play. Yes, this is the same game that was released in the WiiU and 3DS previously, but this version includes all previous DLC in one package and has better drawing/frame rate. The visuals are more fluid and the game can handle many more characters on the screen (and zero slowdown in docked mode). There are a handful of characters to play as including Link, Zelda, Impa, Lana(<3), Sheik, Ruto, and Ganondorf. Everyone plays a part in the story and are unlockable once you clear their respective chapters in the game. Some of the missions are very challenging, and there's plenty of variety to prevent this title from being a redundant "go here kill these guys, go there kill those guys" affair. In fact, some of this stuff I don't even bother with because I'm not into "crafting" potions and weapons or having a pet fairy. Other modes, such as Adventure Mode, let you travel across 8-bit maps in search for unlockable characters (Marin!!) and special loot.

Definitely Definitive
I played the Wii U version with all DLC for 300+ hours and I've already put 150+ hours into the Switch version. I am really enjoying the enhancements and quality of life improvements, as well as content from Legends. Being able to purchase overworld items in the Adventure Mode is HUGE and cuts down on the grinding you'd have to do. Framerate and resolution are increased, more enemies appear on screen for sure, and it's fun being able to unlock everything that was previously just given to you in DLC packs. If you're a mega Zelda fan, you will probably very much enjoy this game, even if you've never played a Dynasty Warriors game (I haven't). It's clear that the developers behind this game absolutely love the Legend of Zelda and understand it well enough to blend it seamlessly with the Warriors gameplay. There is more depth to this game than you think, and some challenges can be stressful, but for the most part you're just having fun ripping up the battlefield as your favorite Zelda character and it's rather cathartic. Couldn't recommend this game enough to any Zelda fan!

Mucho contenido. Muy divertido
Un juego que le tengo mucha nostalgia que anteriormente me consegui en Wii U. Se ve mejor y funciona genial en Switch 2. Además de tener muchisimo contenido.
