Super cute- toe ring does stretch (eventually)
UPDATED REVIEW- I’m re-reviewing these after heavy usage. I originally gave these a 4/5 but now that I’ve worn them extensively, I’m changing these to a 5/5.I took these with me on a trip to Europe and they were the perfect summer sandal! They were cuter than normal hiking sandals, but provided excellent grip on cobblestone streets, stone steps at historical sites and when I got caught in a heavy downpour. I even wore them to hike down the steep steps of Fira in Santorini.I almost returned these when I first put them on because I thought the toe ring was too tight, but now that I’ve worn them in they are my favorite sandal and are very comfortable. They seem to run a little smaller than the Z-trek. I’m a 6.5 and got size 6 in both the Z-trek and the Jessie. I don’t have a lot of wiggle room with this model compared to the Z-treks.ORIGINAL REVIEW- This is my second pair of Xero sandals. I love my other pair, the Xero Z-Trek sandals. They are my go to shoes right now for trips to the pool, walking the dog, everything. I liked the style of the Jessie so I went for it. First, the sizing seems different than the Z-Trek. I’m a women’s 6.5 and the Z-Trek 6s were great and even a little roomie. With the Jessies, the 6 is barely a fit. If you are between sizes, you may want to size up, as recommended by the listing. Second, other people have mentioned the toe ring being tight. When I first put these on, I thought I’d return them because they were tight and uncomfortable. I wore them around a little and the toe ring loosened up. Now that I’ve worn them a bit, they are much more comfortable and I’ve been able to wear them all day comfortably. Finally, as expected because of the minimal straps, my foot occasionally slides off the shoe. I love how these look on my feet and I get a lot of compliments and “where did you get those?” when I wear them. I also love the grippy soles for being out and about. I would definitely recommend these sandals for casual walking.

New favorite sandals! Cute and functional!
I love these sandals! Barely-there barefoot feel and super cute.I used to live either straight-up barefoot or in flip flops, never worn these type of toe loop sandals before. They are super comfortable AND good looking. The toe loop seemed a tad snug at first but it stretches out a bit with wear. When I first got them I had to help my toe into the loop with my fingers, but after a week or so I can slide my toe into the loop without my hands assisting. The ankle strap may be a little small for some people with thicker ankles (like me), but I can still get the velcro together enough to wear them comfortably. I may move the velcro and re-stitch it to allow more of it to stick together.

For people who prefer to be barefoot
These Xero Shoes Jessie Sandals are perfect for people who prefer to be barefoot. These are the definition of a minimalist sandal. The soles are less than 1/4" thick and they are so flexible, you can literally roll them up. The soles seem to be made of a rubber material so can easily be washed. The bottom has a lug sole pattern so they have great traction and are not slippery. The insole has an all over, shallow, texture so your feet don't slide around in them - even if your feet get wet. Note that there is NO padding or arch support at all. These have way less cushioning than plain, cheap, flip-flops. This sole just serves to keep your feet clean and protect them from gravel or hot asphalt. If you aren't a person who lives barefoot most of the time, they will take some getting used to and your feet may be a little sore for a while. If you need arch support or have other, foot problems, these are probably not the shoes you want. The shoes are held on your feet via a velcro ankle strap and a toe ring. That's it. There is no protection at all for the tops of your feet or your toes. The toe ring and ankle straps are made of a flat, knitted tube that is similar to flat, knitted, shoe laces. The part that goes behind your heel has a bit of elastic for a comfortable fit. The velcro strap is easily adjustable. The toe ring does stretch out a bit with wear but not so much that I have any issues wearing them. The sizing seems accurate. I ordered my normal size and they fit perfectly. I have narrow feet and these still work well. They are almost as good as being barefoot and everywhere I go, people comment on how cute and unusual they are. I also find them very comfortable although I will admit that I have healthy feet and I go barefoot all the time except when I have to go out places where I must wear shoes of some kind. Usually, I wear flip flops (the state shoe of Texas) but these are a little dressier. They look adorable with sun dresses, jeans, shorts - anything but an formal evening gown, really. I can walk and run in them with no problems. If you have healthy feet and don't need protection for the top of your feet, these are worth considering. They are well made and look great. I have the olive green and the black colors and am considering buying the red just because I love them so much.

tricky fit
I wear flip flops in an 8, and sneakers in a 9. I purchased in a womens 9 in these first, and the toe loop didn’t hit low enough on toe. It hit mid toe where my toe is the widest. So I ordered an 8, and the loop fits lower in the right spot, but toe loops on both size is tight…no stretch. Takes some work to get a calloused toe through. But the biggest problem with the 8s is the Over strap is too small…. they barely are able to velcro enough. and I don’t even have fat feet or ankles. My feet are pretty bony. There’s more strap length with size 9, but not bymuch. They definitely need to make the straps longer and loop to have more stretch with the fabric. These definitely not fit all foot types…especially those with thicker ankles and feet. Worth a try though.I’m keeping the size 8 . It’s hard to find sandals that fit comfortably for feet with tailors bunions aka bunionettes (beneath pinky toe).photos with white paper on shoe is the size 9, size 8 is all black.

Great sole, but zero stretch in toestrap
Love the sandal, the Xero sole and the barefoot feel, but apparently I have big big toes because the toestrap barely fits and has zero stretch. That would a serious point of improvement for people with bigger big toes. If they change that tight rope for something with just a little bit of stretch (like there is on the back strap) and maybe also in the closing strap on top (or add a bit more velcro so people with bigger feet can still close it easily), than this would be the absolute perfect barefoot sandal for me. They are light and with so few straps really meet the bare in barefoot. And the soles are thin enough to give that barefoot feel, but still thick enough to protect you with just enough bounce in the sole to feel a bit of comfort when you have to be on your feet for longer.

I can't say I found them comfortable
They do what they say on the tin, but I found it hard work to walk far in them. I've used other "barefoot shoes" that seemed easier on the feet. I'm glad I have them, though. They are strong and good for pottering about.
