Sunnydaze 105 GPH Solar Pump and Panel Kit with Battery Pack and Remote Control - 55-Inch Lift

Update: after 2 years the pump and solar panel still works however the panel no longer seems to store power and only works in direct sunlight.I purchased a fountain from Amazon with an electric pump and replace the electric pump with a solar panel pump. So far so good getting about 4 hours of battery after dark. It does need to be in direct sun to charge the battery.

For the first month this worked wonderfully in my solar fountain. It was in direct sun, for over 8 hours, and was pretty much perfect. After a month, I found it turning itself off in direct sunlight and when I tried to turn it back on, it was showing red, meaning the battery wasn't charged enough. WHY? It's in direct sunlight, it should be working directly off of the sunlight! It didn't. The next day I would try to turn it on. It would start but only stay on about 2 hours. I'm returning this, but unable to receive a full refund because I am being charged a restocking fee because I have it over a month. I wouldn't recommend buying this product because it is defective, it isn't working with the sun, it seems to be working through a battery that doesn't last, or doesn't seem to absorb sufficient enough.

First, Amazon, why do you ask about 'longevity,' for a product I only bought this summer? That's just dumb. But I bought one of these, and basically liked it, including that it does put out a healthy stream of water, so bought another, meaning the delight, long after the sun is down, of hearing water running. Although that means I must used other collectors during the day, as even in the sunny Southwest, they don't pull enough juice to do both.

It is a good product, but it requires too much of my time to move the solar panel to pick up direct sunlight. When the panel is facing the sun, it meets the need, but the battery life is nothing to get excited about. In general, I like the design and it is better than a pump we have to plug into an outlet.

Only works in direct sunlight once sun sets its off in a half hour or less!! Even after a full days charge. There’s a port on the backside for a electric plug in but unfortunately you don’t get that cord included with this order and trying to find the right one is proving difficult!! It’s a nice little set up but so are the $40 at Home Depot and they run just as long. I’m disappointed I went with this one figuring it would better with the larger battery back up. It’s powerful enough, as long as the suns in the sky!!
