Fantastic!

It's Crumbs usual great standard.

Weak, very weak & insipid. No inspiration. Bottom of the barrel. Crumb employs his "lazy"-minimalist style (and even his writing is feeble), and the work of the other artists looks like miscellaneous scraps & doodles. It's truly a rip-off, that's what it is. Big names and yet their pieces here don't reflect how or why they became big names.Fantagraphics is a sorry excuse for a publisher. Definitely not lovers of readers and fans. All these years mis-spent issuing "The Best of Crumb" through anthologies when every single fan of Crumb would have preferred a simple reprint of the original comix. Of course, you can charge more for an anthology rather than a simple reprint of the comix---and I reckon that's why they sold us those clumsy sized anthologies containing someone else's decision as to what fans would get to see from each of the original comix.This here Zap 16 is really, really lame and uninteresting. Buy it used or not at all.Shame on whoever submitted such inferior material for publication, and double shame on the publisher for cashing in on the names and selling us absolute drivellous diarrhea. I didn't know any of those cats could draw or write so poorly---until now! Thanks alot Fantagraphics---you suck!
