Handy but check opening times.
Informative but some info is incorrect, for example the market in Flacq is only open on Sunday and Wednesday - thank fully we checked with the hotel before we went. Itโs good for ideas but I wouldnโt take opening times as gospel!

Comprehensive Guide
Really helped us decide what to see in Mauritius

Too light weight a guide to really be of value
I bought the Marco Poli guide to Mauritius because it was the lowest price of all the guides. It was a bit of a waste of money because it is a bit low in value and didnโt add a great deal to my planning for our trip. Iโve now got the Bradt guide, which is a higher price but much better value.

Damaged with liquid that smells of cleaning products
This has just arrived 2 minutes ago, opened the package, that is totally dry but the book inside has a watermark on the outside jacket. This smells of cleaning products and is wet. It affects the outer and subsequent pages to about page 27. Not acceptable at all

Mediocre
No hotel info. Very little on restaurants. Nothing on the wildlife.

Compact and very useful
This is a very handy and informative compact guide which includes a very detailed and clear map of Mauritius. Highly recommended, pocketbook size, for when you may not want to carry a more comprehensive guide eg Bradt guide.
