This lamp arrived 2nd day after order, just as promised. Set up was simple, read the directions, it's set up so you remove it and just screw the segments together, we had no problems, but due to reviews about thread issues we did take our time to ensure everything was held steady and straight; hit a snag at the top then glanced at the instructions, "hey you have to fold that wire to fit it together!"...my bad! So easy after that! :)Not sure what others were expecting, this puppy is tall and slender, if a pie tin fits in your space then this will work and our living room is 16ft x 30 ft and it lights it well! I looked for a lamp with that glass rim so light would shine down not just upwards, this does not disappoint, we tried angling the lamp down (have it in far corner facing rest of space towards dining room) but found that a bit like a spot light or halogen TV camera lamp! the dimmer and remote are awesome! slipped the remote in my purse and turned the light on before we got out of the car (lit up the walkway to door from just inside window!), liked entering a lit room!Huge plus is the flat top, no more scooping out dead bugs or trying to clean under poorly designed bulb fixture in the scratchy frosted glass bowl, that snags boku lint! this baby is flat top and a breeze to swiffer between regular cleaning!The only drawback I saw to this lamp: you dim the light, turn it off, when you turn it back on it automatically goes back to the brightest setting. I prefer the dimmest light setting when on my computer and turn it off when gaming, then got blinded when the roomie came in and flipped the light switch! (not bright enough? can't be the same lamp i have!) I plan on buying this lamp for my parents to replace their scary 1980's torchiere lamp (burns scary hot!) and another for the bedroom when we finish painting!

I almost want to give it two stars, but I like it and it works. It wasn't hard to assemble, it has good features, and it works. But the base does not sit flush to the floor, almost like it's not flat but rounded; so it wobbles when you touch it and would be easy to fall over and break. The good news for me is it's in the corner of a room that has no children or pets.Also the part in the center of the pole with the on and off switch is somewhat hot to the touch when I touch it after the lamp had been on for a couple of hours. Not so hot that it burns you, but hotter than any switch I've ever touched. Maybe that's no big deal, but I'm a little concerned about it. So I'm planning not to leave this lamp on at night and when I'm not in the room try to remember to turn it off. I don't know if I shouldn't be concerned or if I need to stop using it. If anyone reading this knows more about it, I hope you will write.The things I really like are the features that made me buy it in the first place - the way you can tilt the light to one side so it shines out if you need more light, such as for reading or working on something close, or if you just want more light in the room. And I love the remote control that dims as well as turning the lamp off and on. Love the dimmer; love the tilt; love the remote control.

I have a dark corner blocked by furniture, so I have not been able to lighten up that room. The remote control is fabulous and I really appreciate being able to change the brightness. Been in this house over three years and finally that corner (and the room) has enough light.Only took about 20 minutes to put together without bothering to read the instructions.

I purchased this as a simple floor lamp for bedroom. Lamp is OK, nothing special, but have a great feature which would be the remote control. You can adjust your brightness pretty good, from full light to probably like 25-30% of brightness. Acrylic top of the lamp looks sturdy and nice. Assembly is little challenging, since lamp comes in small package and all tubular parts are short, plus you have electric wire running trough. Overall I think that Lamp is decent quality for price that you pay. Only weird thing that you would find is bulging on the middle of the leg to accommodate ON/OFF switch. In my opinion lamp is fine in spaces that don’t require “beauty champs”. It works well for me.UpdateI got another one and this is nice

A little difficult to assemble but once it’s done,It’s gorgeous! Such a bright lamp. I got it for my living room since there’s no chandelier or spot lights, and it really brightens up the whole room. It’s perfect.

AMAZING! Seriously though. This is incredible!! I've been debating if I should get a west elm sconce or this and I finally decided on this lamp and I have zero regrets!! Like many of you I live in Houston in an apartment where there is lots of glass windows and zero overhead lighting. This lamp is a game changer!! 3 different brightness levels, totally solid, and so sleek you hardly notice it! I would for sure recommend. I included a before and after picture with the lamp on full strength and off.

This lamp is awesome. Went together very easy. It has a multitude of uses. I put it in a corner flip the head down and use the remote to dim it down and it is a TV watching back light. I put it in a room and use it for extra light to work on a project. Very happy with this lamp :)

This fits perfectly to my decor, It gives a modern feel. I love that it uses the daylight bulb so hopefully it last a long time since you can’t change it. It seems that most of the lamps in this style you can’t change the bulbs, so getting it for a good price is a must.
