Sometimes you just gotta buy the tool
Most of the inner tie rods I've been in contact with had flats that you can use an adjustable wrench on. However, this tool is a nice addition to your arsenal which can clamp to your inner tie rod end and use a socket wrench to unscrew or tighten the inner tie rod. This tool has the little teeth that allow you to get a grip on the tie rod end. I don't know about you, but sometimes it just feels nice to have the proper tool for the job. Good value.

A Cool Clamp Tool to Have Ready in your Tool Box
My review for "icykale Pack-1 Car Inner Rocker Disassembly Tool, Steering Gear Rudder Multifunctional Wrench, U-shaped Tooth Pressure Non-slip Structure Metal Durable Pull Rod Accessory, Universal for Cars"To be honest, I've not yet used this thing. But when I saw it available on Amazon, I ordered it right away. For many decades I have used the old style steel exhaust muffler clamps for various connective needs. The fact that this one has a slot for a 3/8" ratchet is very compelling. It allows you immediate grip and leverage for twisting and turning a pipe or rod of up to about 2.5" in diameter. Some applications that come to mind are adjusting vehicle torsion bars (Be EXTREMELY careful and do your research before messing with something spring-loaded!). In the product page photo, it shows it being used on what looks like an inner tie rod like the kind on Toyota and Lexus. Recently I replaced my own tie rods and had to rent a $100 specialty tool from O'Reilly Auto. But I think this gadget might have just as easily accomplished my needs. The clamp looks and feels very heavy and durable. I'll update my review after I use it, but for now am happy to have it as a new tool in my toolbox.
